I am with Extend in lower Bellapais (as some people like to call it) and for the last few days my connection has been tragic, I keep losing Hotmail and am getting increasingly frustrated at typing then losing e-mails.

Is anyone else having problems?

The new rates that extend are offering means you can have a 2meg connection for 99tl maybe this is at the expence of the slower speed conections.

I dont know anaout lower Bellapais we in the west refer to it as a disrict of Girne.

I had those problems , but not in NC , they checked and said the speed was slow but they couldn't find the reason , they promised us whatever speed , but we were not getting it , so we have changed provider and will go live on the 11th , and hopefully the end of my my problems

Hi Simbas

Let us know how you get on.. in the UK, unless your exchange is one that has TRUE options - many still use the BT equipment - you might see little real difference..:(

It depends how greatly the route you use to connect changes.

I too was having lots of problems a couple of weeks back and Gwyn was very helpful. Each time she rang the office they would say there was no problem their end, until eventually I told her to tell them that i would be getting a new provider as I was fed up paying for no service, miraculously since then it has been fine.

Where is your dish pointing to receive your signal?

Ours points to the Malpas station and when the hotel is busy our speed is dramatically lower. All those guests using the internet perhaps.

Hi I am not sure where my dish is pointing but have contacted Gwyn to see if she can sort it out.

Unfortunately I have paid until next February so changing providers is not really an option for me at the moment.

Apparently our dish is pointing to the mountains so it is not being affected by the Malpas
