coming over on 18th september, can't wait sunshine at last. we arrive at 11.30pm, will there still be places open to get a drink before bed, or is it best to buy bottle from airport before we arrive.

If your in Kyrenia then try, Ego Bar (on the steps down to the harbour, passed the Mosque), Tacco opposite Tango to Buddha, Tango to Buddha, (after Pia Bella and before Lemar Supermarket) The Corner Bar in Ozankoy (might be closed if not Busy) I am at Tanners Terrace now and its 1.14am and I can still have a drink. You do arrive on a Sunday night so my advise is Ego and Tacco. Tell us more (were your staying) and we can direct you.........

May I suggest a solution to your dilemma:-

Drink as much as you can in the airport coming out and then get extra drink on the plane.

Then Open your duty frees on the transfer to your accommodation.

Drink that too.

If the bars are shut on your arrival, then try going to bed and sleeping.( the room may spin a bit)

The following morning you can awake a bar owner and continue in letting down the British in your determined onslaught into getting the British an enhanced reputation of being a country of drunks that cant go 12 hours without a drink.

TRNC welcomes you

if thats not enough.

hit the airport bar on yo

thanks philuk even though i'm not much of a drinker, old enough to no better, after travelling all day it would be nice to unwind before bed. thought the insults were going to stop on this forum, second time of posting and sarcastic comments already, puts u off asking for any more information.

Simbas Msg 7 - Many people from Monmouth can only speak the real language (Kings English)

Sian Msg 6 - I suspect that it was not you being got at by Phil but a certain type of Brit. Had you gone to or come from Blackpool, Southend, Barry Island, Dover, Brighton even Nice and asked for a late night drink it might have had a similar comment and it was not personal. Keep asking the questions, have a tipple to unwind when you arrive and enjoy the island.

You should be able to find a small shop/mini market open where you will be able to buy a couple of beers/ soft drinks etc and the drinks will also be in a cold cabinet

Rod Msg 10 - In the UK I live next door and some of our local roads have Araf written on them. My other half has a lineage there and lived around the coalfields most of her formative years. None the less when she was young most people did not learn anything but Kings English in the South Wales valleys (so we know it is the real language Taff do we not) and most of the world has it as it's second or third tongue too. (Even though it might be spelt and sound different in some places like the USA.)

APOLOGIES for going off topic grubster

Re Message 12

Flightholiday

I think you will find that todays Welsh is taught in the schools and being one if not the oldest language in Europe therefor Welsh is becoming more commonly used.

My family too were miners from South Wales valleys and being a patriot we defend our heritage.

Our English cousins which were intergrated from France,Scandinavia,Germany etc.

For the record the name taffy originated from the English appertaining to the river Taff which runs through S/Wales

God Bless Owain Glyndwr (the true prince of Wales)

Best Wishes and

Kindest Regards

The history of Wales begins with the arrival of human beings in the region thousands of years ago. Neanderthals lived in what is now Wales,
