Take your old TRNC licence and passport (probably best take photos of residency & photo page too), an application form needs to be completed - it can be obtained from the tax office. You may need photocopies of your UK licence, front and back though can't remember whether this was just for 1st time. Don't forget the fee - you will see from other posts that they are being 'inconsistent' with the number of years you can apply for - seems like 3 might be the maximum at the moment. We got 10 years last year.

(probably best take photos of residency & photo page too) - meant photocopies, too quick on the trigger.

Chris .. It's easy, do it yourself ..

Take 2 passport size photos, your old licence & fill in a form at the tax office behind Girne hospital ..

Pay your money & will be ready to pick up in about amonth .. Give you a receipt for chance you have to show your licence ..

Long time no see .. Call round for a coffee when near ..

msg 3.

No more 10 yrs or 5 yrs for ex pats, it seems. 3 yrs is the maximum now allowed. This started on 14th June this year, on the day when I went to renew my DL. Another went this month & again only 3 years maximum was allowed, despite the fact that there is a price list in the tax office for up to 10 yrs.

I am posting this so that the original poster on this thread doesn't get as angry (understatement) as I was when I went to renew mine.

I had been surprised not to see anyone else report on this issue.

The change to the number of years was made overnight & started 14th June. They told me this on that day. If I'd gone the day before on 13th June, I could have got 10 yrs.

Sorry to say, but the BRS DL details are out of date. You can no longer get 5 or 10 yrs. if you are an ex pat.
