| Any one heard anything about proposed work at Ercan over Christmas and New year. I have friends coming on Jan 1st and they are a bit concerned. |

| They will never close the TRNC airports. If Ercan is closed they open Getikale. No need to worry. |

| The last thing I read about Getikale airport was that somebody was responsible for erecting high voltage electricity pylons across the flightpath for landings !  |

| Deniz1. I guess people try to make light of things here as there is not much which can ever be taken as certain and thus no one to give you reassurance. For eg if the Pylons remain at Getikale now, who is to say whether or not that the contingency for Ercan may still be blighted by the presence of pylons throughout the festive season or, what might happen at Ercan ? I too am due to travel from Ercan in Jan 2012 and share your trepidation on behalf of your friends. Hope things turn out well for you and all those travelling. |

| They were told last week by an english lady who was told by a taxi driver that there were works taking place over the xmas new year period but what sort she didnt know. Many people come here from the mainland at that time so hopefully it wont be disruptive. |
