We have just been advised that flights are to commence on 20 Dec from Ercan to Gatwick however do not know which airline is operating these flights.

Another connection is better than nothing, but flying duration is not great:



Gatwick to Larnaca non-stop direct is 4hr 35mins with EasyJet.

Stansted to Ercan via IST is 6hrs with Pegasus, but atleast no change of aircraft.



Based on times provided above:

Gatwick to Ercan via IST is 8hrs with Turkish, and changing aircraft.



Even if you lived next door to Gatwick, you could still usually get to Stansted in < 2 Hrs and save yourself the change of plane too!

20th Dec. Turkish airlines LGW to Ercan 7.45 hrs back to LGW 27th 17.55 hrs.

From todays Midweek Cyprus Today

"Turkish Airlines will commence scheduled flights to Londons Gatwick Airport this winter. The airline will start flying from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Gatwick every day from December 20th".

do you have to get off the plane in Istanbul or will it be the same as Pegasus (sit on the runway) ?

Fri` 23 March Ercan-London flight looks like a 4hour 35 mins stopover!

Looking at the Turkish airlines website it looks like the same flight details on the 20th Dec, checked a couple of other random dates and they are all the same flight times

message 11: yes there is a change of aircraft in Istanbul - read message 4! In my view the waiting times are too long in Istanbul so, unless this flight is going to be particularly cheap, it would be far better to go from Heathrow.
