Hi

We were thinking about a road trip back to the U.K. Having looked through most of the posts it seems that most people are going in the opposite direction in U.K or E U cars!!

Does anyone know if there would be a problems taking our TRNC registered car through the E U and back?

Thanks

rowlo

dont think so , if you take it to the roc , you are entering the EU.

Sounds like we could be the guinea pigs . Thanks we'll keep informed. Trawling through the net looks like we can do it, we thought there could be issues with taking the car off the island as opposed to driving across to the south.

I've done it from here to UK and all you have to do is buy insurance in Turkey, the insurance office is only metres from the ferrry, within the ferry terminal.

Surely more insurance plus other taxes have to be paid enroute to the Uk and also when you arrive ?

You can not send your TRNC registered car out from Roc. You will need insurance on arrival in Turkey (make sure they don't rip you off on arrival- look at the premium on the policy BEFORE you hand over any dosh). I have heard that there may be a problem entering Bulgaria with a TRNC reg car. You will of course need EU insurance through the EU. If your car has previously been registered in the UK you may re-register it there without paying import duties (if required).

Enjoy the trip!
