Been experiencing Iplayer difficulties on the bbc for the past few nights. Connection to Multimax would seem ok, is it the weather? Anyone else have problems please. Thanks

i am having problems as well, it buffers every 5 seconds or so, I'm getting 6mb download and 1.5mb upload with multimax, so its not them, but only 1.5mbps to the BBC Iplayer. Its probably a problem with the line to Turkey or something. Check your BBC Iplayer speeds here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics

Another option i have just found is to click on the Lower Bandwidth part on the Iplayer before you start the program. Its on the bottom left hand side, underneath More Episodes

We always use the lower bandwidth option, however even with that the past week BBC has been buffering far more than usual and speed tests on MMax show we are still getting more than enough for it to play properly. Also, I listen to Radio2 online and that now drops out every 20 minutes or so and I have to close it down and restart it. Any ideas anyone?

The BBC changed the way they are delivering iplayer content a few days ago and its just not working as well as it used to. The new system (with the pinkish 'wheel' rather than the older style black and white 'wheel') is supposed to automatically adjust the quality dependent on how well your connection is performing but it just is not doing this very well and often causes pauses when there is no need connection wise. This is the delivery system they were using just for bbc news, now they are using it for all iplayer content. Hopefully they will soon either iron out the bugs or put back the older system that was working better (in my opinion anyway).

Thank you Erol, was about to complain to Mmax saying their signal seemed to be up and down all the time - although whenever we do a speed check it seemed better than we pay for. Do you think this change in theBBC is also effecting their radio delivery, as that has only been having problems the last week or so - probably about the same time the pink wheel arrived!!!

| We have been getting quite a few complaints about bbc in the past few days. In most cases, customer connection to us seems to be ok, our connection to our vpn server (which allows delivery of bbc content to the customers) and seems to be ok. Erolz assesment of the situation seems valid at the moment. At the moment, the issue is deemed our of our control but we are closely monitoring the situation and would like to hear from you so that we can make any adjustments to our system, if necessary. | Kemal, seems that this problem isn't just related to BBC, ITVplayer is as bad if not worse - both are totally unwatchable. Any ideas? |

We have just done some modifications between our core Router and our UK servers (which allows watching BBC and ITV), which should result in improved performance and reliability. Although this might not solve the problems we might be facing with BBC, it should give us better connection on our side of things. For those who has been having issues, can you please check and let us know if you can notice any improvement? thank you. Kemal

Islandgirl - lucky you, we tried watching both BBC and ITV several times last night and neither could go 30 seconds without buffering, making it impossible to watch. Kemal - will check today and let you know the situation, thank you for keeping us informed, it is appreciated

ITV is still unwatchable, we are lucky to get 5 seconds before it buffers, there must be something wrong for that to be happening so much, haven't even tried BBC again.
