I dont know about restaurants but what Esentepe does need is a chemist and a fresh fruit and veg stall like Ya Beles

Agree with message 2, there's lots of restaurants now around this area, but the nearest chemist is Catalkoy.

The blue dream supermarket has an empty shop built on the side of it, this would make a really good chemists.

Also next door to the Antique bar there is some sort of market garden with a hut and stalls, I thought this was going to be a fruit and veg stall, anybody know why this never materialised?

I have already spoken to the owner of Blue Dream re a chemist and he agrees. Sadly, he says, there ıs no qualifıed pharmasict in the area and no-one from Girne will travel that far.

I see too many restaurants chasing too few customers at the present time. There comes a point where too much competition just drives quality levels down, with restauranteurs looking for the cheapest possible options to help keep them in business. It all becomes a bit self-defeating.

Oh and message 14, there are TWO indian restaurants. Kings Bar at Turquoise Bay has a very good indian menu.

A local, and well respected, TC told me that from the golf course to Tatlisu roundabout there are over 40 restaurants/cafes/bars where you can eat, there are at least 10 in Esentepe village alone. There must be a cut off point where the potential customer base cannot support the number of locations - especially so in the winter. Currently, you can get European, Asian, local, Italian, Chinese et al. The standards vary greatly, however. Sorry byYes, I cannot offer any sensible suggestion, but I do feel there are more than enough now to satisfy the population likely to use them.

italian, going of the subject, but a good taxi service would be good to take you and bring you back late on when your night is over.thats why restraunts dont do that well.people drive there and cant stay on for a drink later. around these paticular areas i think a taxi would make a lot of money once the word got around,as long as they were reliable and didnt leave you stranded.sorry to go of the subject.

Message 17, the cut off pointwas reached a long while ago. far too many to all make a profit, Jashans on the East to Kuchuk Erenkoy closes completely out of season. Sad to see places open with 2 people in there and 6 staff waiting around. Trouble is the wannabe owners think that because a bunch are open they will do well, poor research f you ask me.

From what I have seen when over there, although the area is growing, the restaurants far out weigh the customers.

All rely on visitors which is a small season.

A proper steak house - as above - would go down well, but - where would the meat be from??

Why do you not go out towards Esentepe - Tatlisu with a pen and pad and write down the cafes/bars/restaurants and then ask yourself the same question

an authentic Turkish restaurant would be great, one that does Guvec, Gozleme and the like. For a good steak, try Stevies, never had a bad one there.
