A week ago I had to write this report: "Alsancak. They still build beautiful walls and gates in Northern Cyprus, though the lack of the all-important keystone may worry some people... It's the entrance of a new fish and kebab restaurant, next to the Fast Food Restaurant (at left when you face it). The new restaurant will open next month and hasn't got a name yet, the owner told me."

▶ [ http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/82936.asp ].

The problem has become much bigger now! I spoke to the owner again today and he had to confess: he still doesn't know an appropriate name for his new restaurant! So if you, witty, brilliant Brits (proof is this thread: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/82936.asp ), have a suggestion..? Write it down here and I'll pass it on to the Cypriot Turkish owner...

The current situation and they are working hard there:

Come on Brits, you can do better... Some nice names above, but don't forget: it's a fish AND kebab restaurant..! Let the bright C44 members come forward. PhilBailey, are you there? No questions this time - replies, please...

Mike

'pis' by itself may mean dirty but tell me what the translation is for the word Pisces and if you do not come up with Balik then I am disappointed with your progress in learning Turkish.

What sort of folk are you aiming to attract, smarter folk or Brit tourists?

Octopus’ Garden? Salt & Battery?

You could start a competition that would encourage more remarks.

Think Fish 'n' Shish is as good as it gets.

Very difficult really as not known which market he is aiming for. British is easy but this island does not only attract British tourists (thank goodness).
