Has anyone had any experience of Turkish citizen's flying in to Ercan from mainland Turkey and then passing over in to the South? Is it possible is there a way to do it?

My mother-in-law is Turkish and living in Istanbul, we live in southern Cyprus and we would like her to come and visit us for a holiday for a few weeks, is this possible or would she not be allowed over the buffer zone/border?

Any help and advice in this would be very much appreciated

I stand to be corrected but I am fairly certain that Turkish nationals are not allowed to cross the Green Line into the South.

presumably any one from outside the EU (eg Turkey) can visit the EU across any border if they have the appropraite visitors Visa? Now a question??? (slightly off topic sorry moderators but it is linked)

I sometimes fly into Larnaca and when I cross the border to NC my passport is not stamped but the taxi driver gets a slip of papaer signed. Can I get these slips of paper and can they be stamped at Ercan rather than my passport?????

These slips of paper are available at all immigration desks. Also, it doesn't have to be one slip per visit. Like your passport, you get it stamped till it fills up then start again.

Yes "any one from outside the EU (eg Turkey) can visit the EU across any border"...........but there is not a border on the island.
