Just to say it's a glorious day in Bury St Edmunds. The sun's shining, clear blue sky and not remotely cold. Make a nice change from the last couple of weeks - dark, damp and freezing cold.

We're delighted to report it's continuing to rain in Karsiyaka, hope it continues for quite a while! Apologies to you holiday folk, you'll just have to bear it....we need this, and more, desperately.

Pity that Kibtek can't get their act together though, I thought we'd been told there'd be no more power cuts? Hah!

I should think that we need a lot more to make a serious difference. The problem is that the ground is so dry much of the water is just running off into the roads.Once the top 6 foot is wet it will allow more water to permeate through and hopefully replenish the aquifers. Todays rain was merely a drop and we need this for weeks to make a substantial difference

Gibson,

Better methods are also needed for catching this precious commodity as well,so that their is minimum waste. Is there still a pipeline being laid to bring water in from Turkey,

Paul.

First time that I have seen serious rain in Cyprus, now I know why the roadside drains are so big, and the pavements so tall. Got caught out in it, got soaked because the umbrells was destroyed in less than a minute. Need one of the umbrellas that are specially vented so as to make them resistant to flipping inside out - anyone know where they can be bought?

Yes dodger I have been up since 8am and it has been raining practically non-stop ever since (in Karsiyaka). Our pool balance tank has gone from nearly empty to nearly full in less than 48 hours.
