on my arse!! Yes, you read right, i just got bitten on my arse! For just walking down a road.

I couldn't even make my way to the house that owns this dog because if i tried to get to the door he would have taken more than a piece of my my arse!

Are there any turkish speaking english people that would be willing to talk to this family to explain that a free roaming vicious dog really is unacceptable?..

There must be some attraction, It’s obviously a very nice arse, with a name like Daisy Dukes I'm sure it is ;-)Seriously I hope someone has a word with the family at least an adult can fight them off what would happen if it was a child!

By the way I would offer to apply some antiseptic, but unfortunately I’m in the UK. Story of my life always in the wrong place at the wrong time! Hope you are OK!

Not a nice experience ,

Is your tetanus up to date ?

Go to the police next victim could be a small child

you have evidence to prove the dog is dangerous

I heard the poor animal has been referred to a pet counsellor this morning, it was found wandering aimlessly, dazed and confused after a sleepless night, PTSD is suspected!

You should report this to the Muktar or council - I have heard they are pretty severe on this sort of thing

Daisy, get a jif lemon, half empty it and fill with jeyes fluid. Quite easy to carry about and work well as a deterrent.

T

ps try not to let it go in the dogs eyes, mouth, nose or any other sensitive area.

Sam,

if you have been bitten you should seriously go to the hospital for medical treatment. Not just tetnus but also rabies.

Dogs are being brought in here from Turkey & Russia which both has rabies and not being brought in by proper means .

don't take a chance go and get treatment now!

blade...he is quite an old dog, very much doubt he has rabies, but i am up to date on my tetanus shots. (had a ton of them when i went to hospital)

As for calling in the muchtar, as it's a sort of neighbour, i really don't want to get 'official' as it could make matters worse, they've only to take umbridge and chuck a bit of poison over my gate for my own dogs, hence why i'd like to have someone go with me for a 'friendly' little chat.

arrry, the trouble with a big stick (or any kind of weapon) is you have to be very confident you will get the animal hard, as you are likely to just enrage it further, and then DD no more.

And finally, yes, it was very scary, he's a big dog, and my nerves are pretty shattered, especially as i have to go past him fairly regulary...most times he just runs at me barking...this time i guess he was hungry.. :((

what a nightmare these things are out here you know as soon as you get a new neibour you are gonig to end up with a barking dog , bored people with nothing to do , get up mid day dont give a mokies , is having a dog chucking a bit of left overs out and building a kennel in the garden having a dog that barks all night , walk down the road and runs after you barking and groaling at you is that owning a dog , i think dog owners should go and get some lessons about owning a dog , when they get off the plane do they leave the brain on it , shut the barking muts up or live some were we all cant here them

you would not do it in the uk so why make peoples life a missery out here

Daisy: If all else fails Scream!!! If there are other houses around you will attract all the neighbours who will realise there is a problem and hopefully deal with it and the owners. Just dont show them where it bit. Yell "Help" and "Imdat"

Most local aggressive dogs turn tail if you make the gesture of throwing stones - or skittle small pebbles at them. Or a water pistol in its face.

I would report this dog bite immediately - next time a child may have its face torn off - let alone you or another adult attacked...neighbour or not - EVERY dog has the potential to attack; this dog should be kept muzzled when off its owners property and when on it - the property should be secure enough to keep it in - I wouldn't give a damn about hurting neighbours feelings - if that were the case, they aren't people you would want to be friends with anyway - if they would rather live with a ticking bomb than do anything about it. Whilst one should never make eye contact with an aggressive dog - and should a dog appear to be in attack mode, one is supposed to stand stock still (easier said than done) if knocked to the ground, one should cover one's nape and face/neck, curled in a ball if possible - as the neck and face is the prime target. Carrying pepper and always wearing a loud whistle to blow (hopefully hurts its ears so much, it backs off - whilst attracting help for you)

1. I don’t think the owners of the dog need reminding that “a free roaming vicious dog really is unacceptable?..” I’m sure they already know, telling them again will only risk confrontation.

2. You should report such an aggressive and uncontrolled dog to the authorities, it is your duty as a responsible resident.

3. You should have taken pictures of the dog and the injuries and sought medical advice if the skin was broken.

4. Alternatively, If the intention of the OP was to feed your self-absorbed personality, job well done!

A Jiff bottle filled with water, or a spray bottle, (Kitchen cleaner), filled with the same will suffice. Any spray can

( furniture polish, fly spray, etc.) will also deter/stop an advancing dog if directed to the dogs face. Shouting back at the dog also tends to make them back off.

Also.

If you hold a stick between both your hands, a dog will automatically bite the stick, enabling you to lift the dog up or off the ground. You then have a perfect target for your feet to dissuade it from further attacking you.

One sure cure for any dog is a stick of dynamite wrapped in a bit of steak or mince - but just make sure that after having lit the fuse and chucked it that the bloody dog doesn't grab it and run under your house!

This actually happened in New Zealand!

Msg 35, thats a good idea, but if the dog is heavy or as big as you are it might be rather difficult to do as you say... think spraying it is the best option ...

Daisy Dukes/Sam

Message 34 on this link you say the belediyesi will sort this out in an instance. Why are you not going to sort this with the belediyesi. Take someone who is able to talk Turkish with you to explain.

Is this the very same dog that was frightening you just a few months ago too. ? I might be wrong ?

But yes it could be a child next. Please do something and not just leave it. please !

This dog doesn't roam the village, he is not a stray and is not sick or flea infested, it just guards it's house that i have to walk past periodically. If it was a stray etc i would definitely call the Belediyesi but for the reasons above i have decided the first democratic course of action would be to talk to the owner first.

However, i have found someone who is going to have a chat with the owner, who by the way is covinced it doesn't bite, just barks, so i would have to prove he bit me my showing my arse to anyone who wants a look, or failing that find a witness...which i don't think there was one.

Anyway as i said, hopefully it will all get sorted out today.

Nothing for it then, Daisy - you'll just have to give your neighbour the 'Maori Welcome' - same as they gave to Prince Charles - otherwise known as 'Chucking a Brown Eye' - that way the neighbour is bound to see the fang marks on your shapely rump!

Don't worry about this being 'a bare-arse cheek' - just 'grasp the nettle' and do it!

Dear GATES. you are an absolute !! What time of day I decide to open my blinds is no concern of yours. If I care for street dogs is no concern of yours, if you want to get out of bed to provide the tarmac that I drive on, then fine by me. Also, I am too young to retire, I have not come here to retire because I cant afford to in the UK. I have moved here to get away from pricks like you. YOU KNOW WHERE I AM. PLEASE KNOCK AT MY DOOR AND VOICE YOUR OPINIONS, NOT ON HERE FOOL!!!!!!

Did not think of moving here that I would have neighbours that scream and shout in the street to one another when they are having a domestic, especially when I have friends round. How shameful for me. Knock at my door if you have a problem with new people in your road. I have a huge problem that I own a property in the UK where we all take pride in our homes. You make our area look like a scrap yard. Would hate to rent a holiday property facing yours.
