How much has it risen over the last few years - 15ytl 2007 -

and what improvements have taken place?

It would be nice for the owners to give us a comment to justify the prices.

Its a shame really because people will end up voting with their feet!

September 2007 15ytl not very clean, food expensive, had upset stomach, pity, lovely beach but just a rip of, however it was packed the 2 days we went, so why woudn't the owners just carry on putting the prices up?

Assumption - dreadful thing, but I'm assuming that you don't have to pay to use every beach in NC and there are free ones, grateful for clarification - ta.

Yeah Tony, there are several free beaches. My favourite is Algadi nr Esentepe and Golden Beach on the Karpas.

I went to Escape in October. I was disapointed as to how rocky it was in in the sea. Hurt my little tootsies a few times.

Thanks Mark.........sorry to hear about your poor little tootsie wootsies......a follow on question; are the 'free' beaches open to dogs? Normal caveats of clearing up after them of course.

Thanks for the sympathy Tony

Uhm not sure about dogs Tony.

I would hesitate to say yes, simply because there was never anyone on patrol when I visited those beaches. I guess anything goes.

I never saw any dogs on the beaches but then TC's seem to only keep hunting dogs.

Also, I never saw any signs saying no animals, not that I was looking. The only problem with the algadi beach might be that they wouldn't want any dogs digging up the Turtle eggs when in season.

hi there guys

like what markie said there are many free beaches you wont have probs with dogs as long as they are well behaved!!! lol

to tell the truth i prefer the beaches on the famagusta side like salamis-silver beach and glapsides untouched unspoilt and not crowded with full of tourists and all you pay for is for the use of sunbeds 3ytl

Mark, Ercan thanks as always.

As for well behaved, being English Setters they have their moments, but are both keen on a trip to the seaside and a threat of not taking them again, or not buying them an ice cream normally works

no probs tony

if you have access to a car, take them down to famagusta for the day you can walk from famagusta all the way to bogaz and not have any problems, and the dogs will love it but warn them to behave and like you said you wont buy them a ice cream and you will ground them and then they cant meet the turkish cypriot bitches!!!! lol

i know what you mean about the setters very lovely dogs but can be quite cheeky and naughty but ever so loyal

erkan

Dogs were never a problem when we were there, however litter was, it would seem that it is a popular pastime of picknicking on the beach and just leaving the rubbish, even if there are bins, people seem unable to get it in the bin and even where someone has gone to the trouble of picking it up and putting it in black bin bags nobody picks up the bin bags, some areas are quite good but some are a bloody discrace, it really is a problem that the government need to get to grips with.

Sorry thats my rant for the day, I hate litter and I hate people that cause it.

Good rant Graham I have a similar view. Have spent most of my time in the great outdoors and it's so easy to leave a place as you found it, or more pointedly, as you would expect to find it.

I recall a look of bewilderment on a teenagers face when last in the UK after I asked him to pick up the half empty buger box he had just thrown on the pavement, I genuinly think he didn't realise it was an unsociable act. Blame the parents, me thinks.

I also feel better for that minor rant.

Ercan - thanks for the Famugusta/Bogaz tip.
