I booked my flight with Pegasus through cyprus Premier holidays. I was looking forward to the experience as i believe they are meant to be a good airline. I have just received a phone call from the booking agent to tell me that the schedule is now changed and I will be flying CTA. Apparently they are not using pegasus (or maybe Pegasus are not flying) during the month of January. I am a bit disappointed as I have not heard good reports of the local airline. Any tips to get extra legroom -aam told there are no upgrades. Thought this information might be useful.

Having just flown with Pegasus recently, (9Jan-14Jan) I can only praise the service I received. The aircraft was immaculate the staff attentive and I was made aware in advance that food and drink was avaiable on board, of course this has to be paid for.

Very enjoyable trip.

I have just booked for son & myself to fly with them 30th Jan, and have

not heard anything. It was fine every time I have flown with them & I

actually got a phone call from Pegasus in answer to an email query last year

CTA is actually dearer than Turkish usually, but you do get meals included

and tasty too. Plenty of drinks if you want to pay for them, same as economy

flights from here.

Msg 1 To the best of my knowledge Pegasus are flying their usual winter schedule Through January:

Monday Wednesday Thursady Friday and Sunday from and to STN / SAW / ECN

Next weeks scedule list is in the panel below.

In CTA's favour they are much improved from a few years ago, Pegasus are good and Turkish too. I have a personal preference but I will not tell you which of the three airlines that serve North Cyprus that is.

I have heard from many people that many "world class" airlines are not offering the quality they puport to or used to which makes these services seem better again.

I booked my flights through the Pegasus website, I thought I was booking direct. I received my tickets through a company called Cyprus Premier Travel (a third party I presume). When I received their call today telling me of the change in schedule and airline I questioned what is was about. The young lady told me that they had no information in their office. I shall call them tomorrow as I am unhappy with the change of airlines for whatever reason. I would imagine that they are within their rights to change my carrier wthin the small print. If,as you state Pegasus are running their usual flights I sstanstead I shall try to get me original flight reinstated. My new departure fiight time from Stanstead on Sunnday is 13.30. If I have to fly with Kthy please can you reassure me that it will be alright

Message 8 A Janey

If you thought you were booking from Pegasius direct why did you think so - was it a case of misrepresentation?

If so you can take that up with your local trading standards officer or the ASA. You should also complain to Pegasus. (If you don't know how to get to them ask on this board someone else may be able to help.)

I am sure that KTHY will get you there, maybe the plane/staff will not be so nice as Pegasus though.

A good agent would not let you think they were anything but an agent for anyone and often charge you no more than the airline or just a small booking fee.

I book direct via the PGS website. Have done many trips with no problems at all. Only issue is that the arrival into Stansted is usually 45 minutes late,so my outward flight is 1 hour behind. Last trip the plane was 30 mins early into Istanbul !!! 180mph tailwinds most of the way helped.

I also pay in YTL if possible when the rate favours it.

My apologies. I have challanged my memory (I did book some time ago and spent lots of time on the web researching flights dates and prices) I finally booked through the agent mentioned as flight price was marginally cheaper. However, I do know that I booked a Pegasus flight through them On their webpage Do I have any rights to claim the flights I originally booked or is it just a lesson to be learnt

I have flown CTY for over 18 months now and have not had any problems with them at all! I believe their service has much improved over the last few years and touch wood, I have never suffered any delays.

Dont want to speak too soon though....

I have been flying to Ercan with KHTY for the last 11 years . In 2005 i had enough of them and decided to fly with other airlines to Larnaca.

Only in Oct 2008 we were looking for a flight to NC and the cheapest was with KHTY by a considerable amount, to good to be true £398 for 2 people, so i went ahead and booked it.

It almost cost a divorce as my wife didn't want to fly firstly with KHTY and secondly from Heathrow.

Anyway we had a great flight there and back and i will agree that their service is greatly improved and i would not hesitate to fly with them again.

Also Heathrow was much better and not so crowded, maybe Terminal 5 opening has taken the pressure off.

Msg 13 If it was the airlines fault that the flight was changed you might have some leverage if the delay was more than 12 hours but that depends on may factors (like where you booked etc etc)

If it is an agents error you may have a little clout also but in real terms will you just be giving yourself a lot of hassle.

I have looked at their advert linked through Cyprus 44 and they seem to imply that they are the airline; which is not so. That was maybe why you thought you had booked with Pegasus direct - this is another point entirley and not in my domain.

I prefer to fly on CTA but the cost of flights doesn't always make that possible, there is plenty of leg room and food is very good apart from the plastic cheese and cucumber roll on the first part of journey to Turkey, and if I am correct the alcoholic drinks are all free. Sadly no movie but this is Cyprus.

Pipie.

1] Did you book all the way on the same airline and in the same booking?

2] Did the airline put you in a hotel overnight?

3] Did they offer you any other "assistance"?

I really appreciate your input. There is a lesson to be learnt. I have indeed got confirmed bookings with Pegasus through Cyprus Premium. However it is written in their small print that they have the right to change carriers, airlines. Their manager is unavailable to speaks to me over the weekend after which I will have flown away. I am told that their flight allocation has been withdrwawn for Januaray. I have yet to be told why. Perhaps they have an outstanding account with Pegasus and the airline chucked their customers off their flights. I have received a couple of good reports about Kthy so maybe it won't be so bad. I have flown to the South previously and particlarly wanted to try out Pegasus but it will have to wait until another time. Next tiem I am booking I will email your company.

Many thanks

Hiya

We usually go with CTA with no problems at all, and get good deals. However, after reading your recommendations we will try Pegasus.

Many thanks for the info.

We have flown with both CTA and Pegasus and I much prefer Pegasus.

Newer planes, pleasent crew and cheaper.

We just booked again with them today for March, £615 return for 4 adults.

It is cheaper to book on their website at a weekend. It was £756 if I had booked yesterday, which I very nearly did, except I cocked it up and decided to do it today instead, cos I was miffed.

The Pegasus weekend offers are only rare - so don't rely on them.

I think this may be in retaliation to CTA's most recent gambit.

Happy to help anyone book etc.

Have returned from my trip to N Cyprus. Having been very anxious about my flight being changed from Pegasus to CTA would just like to say how good both flights were and I would highly reccommend this airline. Lots of legroom, courteous service, food not bad either.

Thannks for all your comments

reading this - the main problem as I see it is Cyprus Premier. I have flown with both CTA and Pegasus for years and have no complaints about either airline, CTA have improved greatly over the years. We generally book flights direct with the airline and never have any problems.

Cyprus Premier are a different matter altogether - I personally would never use this company again. Last year we were really organised and booked our flights early and at great prices. Unfortunately we had to change on of our parties flight home around April time. The best price for this flight was through Cyprus Premier. On the day of departure we arrived at Ercan to be told the seat had been cancelled. We were not alone - there must have been at least 5 or 6 other people in the same situation. Many phone calls later we discovered that we should not have been allowed to book a single flight from Ercan to UK. To give him his due Ahmet managed to us get a seat on a flight from Larnaca 2 days later

sorry - after waiting for stand by flights for two days and nights. Although we had been told that our money had been refunded - on returning to the UK - no refund had come through. Cyprus Premier did pay for the return flight from Larnaca - but we incurred additional costs for mobile phone calls to the UK, parking, petrol and the added cost of someone to collect our daughter from Luton instead of LHR. We have emailed the company several times and have had no positive response. Their view is that they emailed us (2 days before the flight) to advise that our seat was cancelled (how often do you check your emails on holiday). Do you not think that if a mistake was made in April - you would have picked it up before someone departed -say when they sent tickets?! Sorry to rant and rave - but people should be aware of the poor customer service this company provides. My advice - book with a reputable company or the airline direct.

Sorry again - forgot to say that our flights were in August - the busiest weekend of the year - so you can imagine the chaos at Ercan - everyone trying to get back for the start of the academic year.

I do not understand why you were not allowed to book one way - it is a standard seat facility. We offer them with Pegasus, CTA and Turkish all the time.

Our point exactly - we booked through Cyprus Premier online and it allowed us to book a one way ticket.... don't think their website allows that now though.

Why it took them 4 months to let us know that they couldn't (or wouldn't) sell us this seat is beyond us. Maybe they oversold their seat allocation - we will never know. As I said we were not alone at Ercan that weekend - turning up for every flight day and night trying to get a stand by seat - we spoke to several people who had booked through Cyprus Premier and arrived only to be told their seats had been cancelled. We were only wanting one seat - so not quite so much a problem - but there was one family of about 3 or 4 who should have been travelling together and they ended up on different flights - not satisfactory at all.

One thing for sure I would never recommend Cyprus Premier to anyone.

Book through a trusted and reputable company or direct with the airline.

With CTA it depends on which air carft you get, the boeing is older but has much more legroom, the airbus is newer but very cramped.

Drinks are free as I recall but you'll be lucky if you see the drinks trolly more than once and staff seem to disapear on take off.

Food was ok but nothing special.

We were delayed 8 hours at Birmingham with no explanation or apology.

I dont think I will be travelling with them again,

Delays to and from Birhmingham with Turkish (not bad ones 1 & 2 hours) as soon as they could they did not only appologise but said it was down to operational reasons (they knew no more).

On the way back we were only one of a number of flights delayed in IST
