Hi all

Went to the Ricky Hatton fight at the Sempati last sunday, and I estimate there must have been 50-60people in there. I got to speak to 1 or 2 people who were there, but I just got to wondering how many of you were in the same room as me (whose forum name I would recognise) without me knowing it. If you were there, please post and let me know. I was also in Tolga's bar on Quiz night earlier this week. If you were there let me know, and maybe next time i'm over(end of Jan) I may get to meet a few more of you lovely people!



As this post is entitled 'Ricky Hatton fight', I feel I ought to comment on the fight. What a game boy!! He put up a bloody good performance, kept going forward, but unfortunately, it wasn't to be. He did make me proud to be british though!

I hear that everyone watched the Hatton Fight. Which channel did Sempati use to show the Hatton Fight, as i use a Bar on the Bellapais Road, May be No more ! ,He made this remark. No One in Cyprus is showing this Fight. Now i hear at least 3 or 4 of these Bars showed the Hatton Fight. SHIT.I missed it.

IMHO, this has to rank as one of Hattons worst performances, not because he lost but because he is so much better than that. He hardly hit his target, didnt move his head, kept coming forward and walking into FMW fists, didnt stick to his pre-fight gameplan, underestimated his opponent, didnt use his brain, this is on par with our national team, much better but didnt show it on the night.



He is one of the worlds best, but based on that performance, he is brave, (I couldnt do what he does) but nothing to be proud of.



Now there is talk of him returning to light welterweight, where he has dominated for years, I dont get that, stay and prove yourself in this class, FMW is just one fighter, go and take on the rest of them, I hope he does not cut and run because of one defeat :-(

i had the pleasure of watching it in the comfort of my home!!!

it is fact that hatton is a quality boxer and the best british welterweight champion in years

But the way he fought last week was like school on a sunday No class!!!



jet the only way for him to prove himself is to have a rematch with mayweather because he holds the wbc belt aswell as the ibo - iba - wbo titles

so there is no one else to fight in all the divisions and at that weight and whats the point of fighting not for a title! so the best thing for him is to drop down a weight or just simply retire or hope mayweather goes back into retirement then he can stay in that weight divison

but in my view the only way he can redeam himself is by having a rematch with mayweather

legin most of all turkish bar owners give it the waffle saying they are the only ones to show a particular match - fight or program but the truth of the matter is everyone has got the same channels as everyone else in cyprus and not one bar or person has the exclusive rights to show it!!! LOL you will get used to their waffle mate a word of advice always take a story with a pinch of salt in cyprus and thats concerning nearly everything!!!! lol

spurs vs portsmouth game is live on showsports 2 and the west ham game is on showsports 4 these channels are on the showtime package on the nilsat satelitte so just ask anyone you know or pub if they have got this package then you will be able to watch it



for the games tomorrow liverpool v man u and the scum v chelski if you know anyone who has digiturk it is on fox sports channel 70 on the digi box and this is in english comentary aswell

Hatton is parting company with his trainer who has been with him since he was 18. The first casualty of that big loss.



I thought Hatton would want to practice some of the lessons Mayweather taught him that night, by fighting others in that class, perfect the art of ducking when someone takes a swing at you



A rematch is only viable in a closely fought contest, but that was not the case, he was totally outclassed. Besides, he promised his mum he will give up at 30..... and if she is anything like my Mum, he better not break his promise. Ha Ha

I have worked it out. You needed a Giant 4.2 Metre Dish to show the Hatton Fight. That's why the Man on the Bellapais Road said he has not got it because he hasn't One of those Dishes. All he has was a Dish the Size of a Frying Pan.He won't last Long. Conning People. That is No way to Do Business.



By the Way. Just Been on the BBC Web Site. The Beebs are showing a rerun of the Hatton Fight. Wow.then we got Liverpool v man u and the scum v chelski all on Sky TV. What a Day tommorrow will be.

smartandy you could actually have a 1.5-1.8 metre dish to have seen the fight the reason why you see homes or pubs with a 4.2 metre dish is to recieve bb1 and all bbc channels, all itv channels, with the smaller dish you can still recieve all sky sports & ppv and all movie channels

and also you did not have to have sky to watch the fight it was on many other channels on other satellites

this also goes with football games in fact the arab channels beat sky they have most of all the games on a sat,sun and widweek and with english commentary so if any of you guys are football nuts look for places that have this showtime sports packages

hope liverpool draw with man u and chelski beat the scum just to open the top of the league up a bit and congrats on my team spurs beating pompey and giving them their first home defeat and their run of wins

the thing that concerns me if hatton does keep his promise he will retire at 30 he is not actually 30 till oct next year so enuf time to have one last pay day and he loses again it wont be a good way to go into retirement for a boxer of his standards with his fighting record

Went to the Bar yesterday and watched Spurs match on that Arab Channel IT P***ed me off, All that Advertising. I always watch football on Sky, then if Sky has not got the matches i go for the Second best.

With Remarks like that RiceMan will be out of a Job, and No viewers will be able to See, the Carling Cup, F.A. Cup, Champions League, and International Football, not forgetting the Rugby, that why my mate chose to buy that massive Dishe beats the b***ocks out of that Arab System, who wants to watch Grand Slam Sunday with all the Arabs running out in there White Frocks. Sky's to the One watch.

i watched the game on showsports yesterday and there was no advertising at all the comentary was all in english the channel you watched mate was probabley fox turk which has a lot of advertising during the game at the bottom of the screen and yes it pisses me off to this channel for me is a last resort too

belive you mate im a bit of a football nut and done a lot of researching even thou i have sky aswell sky does not touch showsports for example next sat sky sports have only got the arsenal spurs game and wolves v leicester, showsports has 6 games villa v city - bolton v birmingham - fulham v wigan - liverpool v portsmouth - boro v west ham - reading v sunderland and all commanters and presenters are english so no fear of arabs in white frocks running around lol

and if rugby is your thing it has all internationals- league and union

have a look at ratman's post message 26 he had sky and now has showtime

Hey UKTurk.

I watched the United match on ShowSports in My mates house, the Sound was Awful, now he is thinking of changing to Fox Sports on Digiturk, One of my other mates has this channel but it gets scrambled, he went to digiturk, but digiturk said u can not receive this channel in Cyprus for Premiership football, channel gets scrambled but u being Mr. Sat Expert better than Iceman

how do we receive Fox Sports over here.

a lot of people get confused with digiturk and turksat, the turksat satalite transponds around 200 turkish channels, two of the channels on this is fox and foxturk, fox is aimed for turkish countries and foxturk is aimed at turks living in europe i.e germany, holland, france, and the u.k these channels are normally ftv but when they are showing a match they temporily scrambe the transmission but this is easily overcome by updating the software on your reciever and this descarmbles the coded channel this costs around 15ytl and is cheaper than digiturk but the comentary is in turkish



now digiturk is a completey diffrent satellite and is a scrambled service thats why you pay for it to receive it, the cheapest package is economic paket which costs 19.90ytl a month and with this package you get fox sports which is in english and you can without doubt get this channel in cyprus and you also get the other fox channels which i mentioned earlier and sometimes you get two diffrent games on them, so what i think whoever your mate went to see dont know what he is talking about or your mate might have not fully understood



your other mate who is experiancing sound probs on showtime should right down the freq then delete it and do a re scan this might clear the problem

because the sound for me was a good standard
