The much talked about North Cyprus Festival commences today in London with a mixture of art, cartoon, theatre, and musical performaces. Organised by Theatrical Artist Ilke Susuzlu and supported by the TRNC Prime Ministry, Finance Ministry and mission in London, it is the first festival celebrating the artistic talent, music and talent of Northern Cyprus to be held in the UK.
Beginning with an Art and Cartoonist Exhibition at Apney Public Hall in Church Street, Stoke Newington, the festival is intended as bridge between Turkish Cypriots in the UK and Cyprus. Representing Turkish Cypriot Art and Culture in London, the "North Cyprus Fest", which will also include the first London screening of "Havasu Garayanni" at 20:00 on the 9th March at St Monica's Hall (1 Stonard Rd, Palmers Green N13 4DJ) and a concert by renbowned singer Umut Albayrak at 19:00 at St Monica's Hall (1Stonnard Rd, Palmers Green, N13 4DJ).
The "North Cyprus Fest" will take place from the 8-14 of March 2007 that begin with an Art and Cartoon Exhibition, followed by a Theatre Show, Concert and Fest. For more information: 07799238839
