The FAQ and rules on the AtlasJet website have now changed for flights departing after 5th July. They will carry booked KTHY passengers, BUT you have to convert your KTHY ticket to an AtlasJet ticket by visiting an AtlasJet office in either Turkey or TRNC. So, if you're flights are originating in the UK, AtlasJet has left KTHY passengers high and dry. The government of the TRNC should be totally ashamed of this "deal" that they have brokered with AtlasJet.

I think if you read these rules it is implying that only passengers departing Turkey or Cyprus not those that are departing UK or elsewhere need to change tickets to Atlasjet

Paul Msg 1 - As I see it (I stand to be corrected) and I am not in the know. The information on the Atlas FAQ is not always correct or what they meant to say. Their forte is not English but running an airline. So I suggest you ask if people’s tickets from the UK have been or are being honoured. I suspect that many have been from the comments on other threads. Maybe thus avoiding yourself & others having a fit of apoplexy. With regard to the deal I am not sure what options the TRNC Government had as if there was no deal (with any airline) maybe no one would be flying on their CTA tickets at all.

Msg 3 - Apoplexy is a most appropriate description! I just read it as I'd posted. But it would be fair to describe the whole thing as a shambles, and there are plenty of posts on here that prove testament to the fact. I've already made alternative arrangements for my Summer flights anyway, and written off the loss, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be something concrete in place for my October half-term CTA flights that I have booked.

I think many people will be rethinking their summer holiday plans and I suspect their destination may not be North Cyprus anymore.

Save yourselves a load of bother, do Larnaca or Paphos, this fiasco will take at least 6 months to sort and take a year after that for confidence to be gained in the TC's next attempt at running a national company with everyones fingers in the till, greedy sods will never learn. D.N

Dixie, Msg 11. Well said, time to boycott these greedy sods.... However, Pegasus are also an option in to Ercan. We've been using them for the past 4 years, service was a lot better than CTA.

zcacmxi Ive read a number of your posts now. Do you or a family member work for Pegasus? You do nothing but knock CTA and promote Pegasus?

according to today's Cyprus Mail, the Atlasjet deal did not go through! "Currently, the authorities in the north say they are seeking ways out of the crisis. Although the Atlas Jet deal did not go ahead, the company is handling CTA flights since CTA’s flight licences were rescinded by the Turkish aviation authorities two weeks ago because of “financial irregularities”. Nevertheless, around 150 passengers were again stranded at the north’s Ercan [Tymbou] Airport Sunday night when Atlas was unable to accommodate all passengers who had turned up for CTA flights."

went to atlasjet shop this morning. dosnt seem to be a problem new tickets will be issued tomorrow. I have 5 flights some will be flying from uk to ercan. but i bought them all here. maybe this makes a difference. Well will wait and see tomorrow. The girls were terrific but some of the brits were taking to them like s--t. they are only trying to help. one passenger was insisting she go on the 10th july and not the 14th that was offered. the turkish lady was getting very annoyed after having explained there are no seats on the 10th. anyway explained to the lady just take what is on offer or you wont be offered anything if you keep tqlking to her like that. she is only doing the best she can. so lets wait and see.

Pegasus??? Are you for real? I just went to book a flight with them are they are trying to charge the grand total of £420 for a two week holiday! They have totally taken this fall of CTA to another level... Everyone is greedy and I cannot stand for it anymore, I will be flying to Larnaca where the prices are a lot more reasonable. It's such a shame that Pegasus couldn't shine and we could then use them as a good example, but they are in essence a carrier that has been the "cheaper" option, opting to not serve you a meal. Would you pay £420 for a flight where you had no meal and no tv??? I think not. Pegasus can go swivel now!

Ayse 18 - how soon is your flight? It is common with all airlines to charge more the closer you get to departure as their cheap seats have sold - it's just that with fewer flights available many more seats have gone than would have at this time of year. Does this make sense?

Pegasus (and Turkish airlines) raised their prices immediately CTA went down. Its called Gouging. Atlasjet had almost no availability. Better to fly cattle-class via Larnaca on a cheapie airline with all the Napa party teens than give your money to price gougers.

DONTY, I've no connection to Pegasus other than being a satisfied customer. However, I have no love for CTA having endured their "customer service" over the past 20 years whenever there was no competition.. The way I see it CTA ripped me off for so many years and provided me and others with appalling service. If they had not, maybe Pegasus wouldn't be so successful, and maybe CTA wouldn't be bankrupt! Re, pricing. When I checked a month ago, Pegasus prices were higher than CTA. Prices are demand driven, so as soon as a competitor is removed, then demand for the remainder increases and the prices shoot up. Same was true when TWI Flights / Atlasjet packed in a few years ago. Overnight CTA prices increased.

Msg 23: More than satisfied i'd say! You were suggesting people use Pegasus before CTA went down and use every opportunity to promote them. Almost everyone of your posts is regarding CTA and plugging PGS. If your not on the payroll (and I reckon you are) you should be. I have flown with CTA tons of times and never been late more than a few minutes. Always got my airplane food and legroom is ok (i'm 6ft 2") for todays standards. I dont expect the girls to fawn over me and knowing Cypriot culture I understand that Cypriot women dont flit their eyelids at fellas (if this is what you are upset about) as they have learnt with the influx of eastern Turks this is not a sensible thing to do! What 'appalling' service are you banging on about? IYour just knocking them to gain extra advantage for your employer!

DONTY, you claim that I must be on the PGS payroll as I praise their good service. They have earned my praise by providing a good service. They do not operate like CTA who had to buy their supporters, as their service was not up to scratch. Similarly, you seem to praise CTA in all your posts? Were you on their payroll? That is more likely in my opinion, as searching for "kthy reviews" on google returns quite a few people that shared my experiences of poor service. The market is no liar. People voted with their feet as they were not satisfied by CTA. They booked & booked Larnaca, they booked & booked Pegasus... We can see where CTA is up against this competition.

Zcacmxi: I actually post on many different subjects unlike you. Your only interest is pushing Pegasus. CTA was bought down by the powers that be (the TAA took away their license to fly then someones family took them over). They were in a different position to your employers as they were a state run business. Still waiting to hear from you what was so appalling (your word - very strong) about CTA?
