if you put your details on your profile all members with access can see them if you don't want them to see your email address for instance then use the hide option.

in saying that,off thread a second, i had a sms the other day from citreon garage here,ive never visited them,dont know any 1 from there,but what i do think is this,some 1 some where is selling batches of peoples mobile numbers for advertising purpose to companies here.

its a nice little sideline,as i know in the UK large companies will pay a small fortune for a disk full of phone numbers and email address.



Seems some 1 here somewhere has latched onto the idea.

If any Member's concerns are about personal information being either disclosed, or sold, to third parties, then they may be justified in your response.

However, if any Members are concerned about being found out, and having their "actual" details exposed,to other Members, because of the effect that their posts are having on their victims, then they deserve all that may come to them.

Oh for goodness sake when I first came onto the forum our names were pasted on here for all to see, and we had no idea what was going on at the time..some people just enjoy being vindictive people that is part of their personality other are just not born that way and raised that way ! The people responsible have other identities NOW )) SO WHAT ! Some people are just playing sick games most on here know whats going on as do the mods. We all know who is genuine but its the new members like I was way back when that get confused..Its good advice not to respond to nasty posting and they will just go no where in their behaviour thus giving them NO self satisfaction in winning and upsetting member by bringing the forum into disrepute, all stick together and let the losers and loners give up, because eventually they will not sit back and smile at the bloody computer ! ) just my thoughts.

a little insight into the workings of the board and the information the Forum Admins can see. apart from the information that all can see in a personal profile the only extra information available to a Forum Admin is the email address you provided when you registered. We can see this even if you chose not to disclose it to the general membership. This is so we can contact all members.



We don't have access to any other information such as IP addresses and the like. The database records those yes as a matter of course but only Izzet can access that information. He has never disclosed such information to anyone.



We do have access to a software tool that can demonstrate whether different members are logging in from the same IP adddress. It is part of the process whereby we try to detect people with multiple I'D's or banned members relogging in with different names. It is still hard work to do so however.

Even that software does not disclose I.P. addresses to us, it just flags where multiple I.D.s have logged in from the same computer (for which there may be of course be a perfectly legitimate reason)



In summary then to answer the question then I can say that your personal information beyond what you publish is safe and secure and has never been divulged to anyone.

In a posting some time ago it was suggested that for security you did not show an email address. I have nothing to hide from anyone, but took the precaution to hide my email address.

There are always people that try and cause problems, and quite often hide behind multiple identities. Now I only look at posting that are nice, and ignore the ones that are not.
