It is not really on the 'right' side for you, but its the only beach I have used this yuear and a long time favourite of mine and my families in Cyprus going back many many years. It's mare monte beach. It is currently great value as its free, yet does have sunbeds (but not mattreses) and umbrellas as well as basic toilets and fresh water showers. There is also a basic but very good value cafe where you can get drinks , ice cream, beer and basic food. You can also take your own food and drink if you like, non one minds and we often do. It is out on the west side of Girne a little bit past the 'monument'. You can see it on the map in the liuk below and should be able to zoom out and scroll the map to get an idea where it is. It is not huge and can get crowded on some days but its small size is part of the charm for me.

One of the best beaches East of Girne is Algadi, turtle beach. About 10 miles from Catalkoy on Acapulco Road, on the left as you go up the hill towards 5 finger mountain.

Free entry, nice beach bar/cafe. Showers and toilets. Lovely spot for swimming/sunbathing. Acapulco Hotel is a lovely place, midway between Catalkoy and Algadi . Don't know if they allow visitors now, if they do, well worth a visit.

Try Diana Beach in Catalkoy, completely under new management, very clean, excellent food at very reasonable prices, and extremely nice friendly staff. Give it a try and see for yourself. In the past it was a disaster most of the time, now you will hardly recognize it as the same place.

erolz; Basic food? I had the tastiest "köfte kebap"s with chips and salad for 8 TL and the soft drinks are near shop's prices. They do burgers and Döner kebaps too. They also have great shower areas and changing rooms. I often go there for a quick dip 2-3 times a week. If you email me and let me know which days you are there, we might get a chance to have a chat

Mare Monte beach is very nice but very busy. The cafe is great and excellent value and they sell Efes and Strongbow for 4TL. The last time I was there with my friends the owner sent us over a plate of grilled hellim which was lovely.
