Just had a very sad call to say that Tom passed away this morning suddenly.

I am sure that anyone who knew him well and also for all those on here that he has helped over the years will join me in sending huge hugs to Janet.

For anyone who has outstanding bookings with Flightholiday please be patient and they will be dealt with as and when Janet has time.

i am so shocked - they were due over next week and we had made arrangements for having a drink together - Tom helped me since before we came to live here, with information about shipping the dog, about life out here and everything - he was a great one for a chat, and never minded finding out things on the behalf of people over here. He will be missed, and our condoloences go to Janet, and of course to Alan at IAH who no doubt is also in shock.

How tragic. Condolences to his family. I only got to know Tom this year, via the phone, when I was trying to organise my Christmas flights and never met him in person but he was a true gentleman!

Tom phoned me on Wednesday and supported me 100% on the defib fundraisers. His last message to me via 44 was http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/81173.asp here.

He drove me round the bend at times but he had a heart of gold. Can't believe you are no longer with us Tom. RIP

Tom was a good friend and we talked regularly regarding Pegasus and their plans and often the resulting conversation proved benefical to both of us.

He will be sadly missed by all his friends in the industry and indeed as a close friend within the Pegasus family.

From the Pegasus Stansted team and our colleagues in Istanbul our thoughts are with Janet at this sad time.

I saw this morning he was taken ill and hoped for the best, but it was not to be.

Thinking about his wife and family. I lost my own husband heart attach when he was only 44 and I 37, and

I know how hard to bear this is. So sorry to hear this awful news.

Totally devastated by this sad news.

Tom was not just my great friend he'd been like a brother to me, especially since I lost my husband 4 years ago.

I had been so looking forward to seeing him and Janet during their Xmas break.

This world is a poorer place without you - rest in peace Tom.

Heard only this morning, although Teresa had tried to contact me yesterday. Tom was indeed a special person, and he spent over half an hour the other day filling me in on something, and I know that many many folk will miss him, BUT, I do hope that somehow he is able to read all the lovely things that people are saying about him. The sad thing in life is that one rarely tells others how wonderful they are, and what they mean to them, and I wonder how many of us told Tom how much we appreciated him? But I also hope that Janet is comforted by all these wonderful wishes. She will need a lot of help, and I hope that she gets it. As she has MS life is a struggle enough. He will indeed be missed for all his individuality, kindness, helpfulness and for just being Tom!

~Whilst we never had the pleasure of meeting Tom every time we spoke to him on the phone he was so very helpful and we always had long chats about Lapta, especially over last year's flooding. I am so so sad to hear this and extend our heartfelt condolences to his friends and especially his family. RIP Tom.

I just wanted to add to all the words already said.

I had the unenviable task of keeping Tom and Janet's rather complicated computer system online for the past few years, so I have spent many an hour or four in Tom's company. He was a customer who very quickly became a true friend.

Never have I known anyone so genuine, big hearted and unselfish as Tom.

He used to drive me bonkers sometimes, and when he booked me for a half-hour technical support visit, my wife used to say "see you in three hours time then". Half hour to fix the problem, two and a half hours laughing and joking, drinking tea and eating cakes!

Once he phoned me for a bit of computer help but unfortunately I was stuck out in the Forest with a broken down car. "Where are you? I'm coming over with a tow-rope!" was his immediate reply.

Yes, he could be chaotic and frustrating at times, and could talk for England, but the world is an emptier place without him, and he will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touc

I knew Tom from way back in the days of TRNC Villaowners site & over the years he became a friend as well as booking some of my flights. Nothing was ever too much trouble & was always there to lend a hand or word. He was brilliant when I was stuck in TRNC with the volcanic ash & even tho I had not booked my flight with him, he was so helpful. RIP Tom, one of lifes true gentlemen & Janet, take very good care xxx

I do feel that after all Tom contributed to this forum with his kind words of advice and support to anyone that the moderators might have made this a sticky even if only for a few more days thus allowing anyone who had been offline and missed the news of his death to be able to add their tributes to him.

Good idea Pat, but maybe wait a while as I suspect his widow may be awash with flowers at the moment.

There will be some awful dark days to get through in the coming weeks, so maybe January would be a good time. Janet will need some TLC to keep her going
