Hatice from Hati's Restaurant in Esentepe is willing to give some lessons in basic Turkish cooking. Just wondering if there are people in the general area of Esentepe (or anywhere else) who would be interested. Nothing planned yet this is just a feeler to see what the interest would be.

Hello Carmel,

I would be very interested but unfortunately I shall not be Cyprus until late April early May, would this be a one off or will there further/future lessons, if there are to more maybe something can be arranged.

As I say I'd love to attend.

Cheers,

Alex.

Week after next for some Turkish cooking - maybe Thursday or Friday. Will post again closer to the time. This week or next week does not suit Hatice, so that gives time to think of dishes you want to do. Time and day will be confirmed later.

Thursday morning (19th) 10.00 a.m. for anyone interested in learning some Turkish cooking. I think this week Hatice will do some stuffed aubergines and artichokes, and then people can decide themselves what they want to do. Hopefully all interested can come along and enjoy learning some good local cooking and then of course eating the resulting dishes. Hati's Cafe in Esentepe is the location.

Hi Hati/Carmel,

Are you still teaching basic Turkish cooking at the cafe?

Hi Kaye, we were cooking this morning, stuffed aubergines and artichokes (dolma I think). More next week, so hope you can be there.

Message 13 "Kibris Turkish Cuisine" has been reprinted and we bought one earlier this year. Ask Libby at the Garden book shop to get you one.

Hi,

Turkish dolma is one of the easiest things to make, very basic, you can find the recipe on the internet I made stuffed peppers the other day and they were delicious, so many recipes and videos available online now

Sounds like a great idea. I've often wanted to try my hand at some of the dishes but haven't got the recipes - every other nationality but Turkish!
