HEP! Can anyone tell me which is the best hotel either in Kyrenia or east of. I need it around May and would prefer 4/5 star. I can only think of the Dome, Acaplco, and the Malpas and the Colony, but dont know what they are like to stay in Any ideas and strong recommendations Please

Malpas or Colony They were built to more modern standards Malpas more atractive location Colony more convenient maybe ask others about the Rock (near to the Dome) too? Stayed in none of them.

Hi Berty The Colony is certainly central. As is The Rocks The Savoy and Pia bella. Jasmine Court has just had a refurb. I have had friends styaying at the Malpas but they were not too impressed. Further west you have the Mercure which is nice. Hope you find one to your liking. Take care Lilli xxx

It all depends what you are looking for--location,price,service or comfort. Dome--Good location in the centre of town but can be noisy because of this. Colony--Good location, service and food excellent and very comfortable but you pay accordingly. Acapulco--Nice beach location slightly out of town but staff and hotel can be a bit of a pain in the back side for rules and regulations. Oscars--You either like it or hate it. Not bad location if you ignore the entrance. Very popular with people who have been coming back to cyprus repeatedly for the last 20 odd years.

Pia Bella ideally situated, the superior rooms are lovely, the facilities are very good, the Staff are really friendly nothing too much trouble anything wrong and it's put right straight away. Food and drink are at reasonable prices and the grounds at the back are nicely kept. 2 swimming pools to go at and plenty of sunbeds and brollies.

Personally I would go for The Malpas or Bellaview. Each is worthy in its own right. Malpas for its food and clientelle. Bellaview for its small size, exquisite bedrooms and outstanding views. Both worth every penny.

Did wonder if a tourists view of their recent holiday in NC would raise any eyebrows. Obviously not. Are we surprised?

Berty, I stayed at the Colony last year for just a few days. I was so spoilt while I was there. The service and staff were excellent - very attentative, without being intrusive. I would highly recommend a stay there. A bit pricey, yes - I got 4 nights at GBP 292. on 'go north cyprus' website. But I'd definitely go back again - when I've saved up! Y

Malpas is ok - it says it's 5* - but in my opinion it's not - anyhow the breakfast is very good but be aware the walls are not sound proof and when we stayed we could hear the man next door having a wee - oh yes they have 'Salsa Nights' that last until the early hours to around 4.00am!!!!!! Their beach bar is impressive though.

rowlo I thought that the first review was a well written and honest 'warts & all' account. The writer has taken the time to give valuable feedback. He was the only guest at the hotel and points out the rubbish problem for example. The second writer vents their annoyance at the dual pricing for TC's v tourists. Pity no notice will be taken. And the powers that be wonder why tourism is down.
