Go to Istanbul's Bankalar Caddesi area near the Galata Tower and shop around. About 40% of the price they attempt to charge here.

Has the old Chapter 1 restaurant next to Jafeica's turned into a lighting shop? There is a lighting shop with lights and chandeliers further on, towards Lapta, on the opposite side of the road (sea side)

The big lighting shop ( sea side) has closed down and moved next door to what was Chapter 1, I priced something in there once and nearly choked at what they were asking !!!!!!

They have a huge chandelier in there, absolutely beautiful, but God only knows what size room you would need to fit it in !

I have been told that there are some great lighting shops in Istanbul therefore if I buy a chandelier/lighting or anything for that matter from Turkey will I have to pay import duty in Cyprus?

Thanks ..

PhilD

I daren,t think how much the chandelier would be, they were asking £40 for a bog standard bedroom light shade.

You would need one hell of a staircase for that particular chandelier, last time I saw one that size it was hanging in the Hotel Negresco in Nice.
