Telsim 3g question

I went to Telsim yesterday in Girne and wanted to port my Turkcell number over to Telsim and asked about using 3g with my Iphone 3g. They told me that I had to buy a data card to put into my phone but that I could only use it for the 3g internet and not to make calls. This sounds wrong to me as I have a Turkcell number and use the same sim for 3g internet and making calls.



Is there anyone out there who has a phone with a Telsim number who uses the phone for making calls and the internet via 3g
