We have just imported some algaecide which is very suitable for black algae. We need a pool to test it on - for free - as none of the pools we maintain have this problem (tempting fate).

If you have a stubborn algae problem, particularly black algae, please contact us.

You place a chlorine tablet in one and it floats in your pool, ,jacuzzi or water tank, sterilizing the water.

No takers for the free algaecide?

We are on an estate which has a recycling plant which turns the poo into grey water fit for irrigation by pumping oxygen into the system and therefore speeding up nature. At present it is not used for irrigation but just overflows to waste.

Is there anyway of testing this water as I want to ensure that no harmful bugs are present if we are to use it for irrigation. Someone said we need to put chlorine in the water, but wont that kill the grass and plants?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Vaughan. I have 2 pools which appear to be suffering from black agae growing in the grout joints. Brushing and normal algesides have no effect on it. Would love to take place in a trial!

Hi CJtill,

Chlorine will also kill the bugs that do the work! The person you really need to speak to on this subject is Mr. Fixit, Nick Bointon. He can get a sample analysed for you and make some recommendations. Ring him on 0533 845 3935.

Hi OLdDogs,

Thanks for contacting me. I will get back to you with a date/time to meet you.
