Can anyone tell me how long the vehicle exhaust emmission test certificate is valid for? I have heard one year and three years. Which is correct? Thanks.

If you get stopped by the police and you do not have a valid emissions test certificate, you are given 2 weeks to obtain one.

ask at girne police station, maybe they would know.

i went to Erdeners to renew my test as it was just over one year old and paid 20ytl but then a friend of mine went to the Girne police station and told her that once the first test is done it is then every 3 years unless you have a vehicle with hire plates or a van.



However it took 4 police officers to work out the answer.



Who knows what the answer really is!

The answer is 42!!!!!!!!



We were informed that our test was valid until MOT is due.

It is 3 years. I have just come back from retaxing my car in Girne and my emmission certificate from last year is valid until 2010. Happy days!
