For those of you that don’t already know Sunset Valley has fallen victim to burglaries again, this is the second time the development has been targeted in the last six months. One of the reasons this development is venerable is because the street lighting has been switched off by KIBTEC because the bills have gone unpaid. The simple way to resolve this problem is for the owners of each property to register for Council Tax in Esentepe. If you own a property on Sunset Valley please try to register and pay ASAP. Polite Request – Please keep this topic on thread, thank you.

Sunset Valley is opposite Crystal Bay and that was targeted over the Easter weekend with several villas being robbed. It seem there is a spate of robberies at the moment as Alagadi was also targeted at the weekend, I read Can you explain why registering for council tax in Esentepe would stop Kibtec switching off even if the bill for the communal lighting is not paid, please?

Carrington inform me that the site has an electricity meter for the street lighting and if the property owners register and pay council tax Esentepe council will pay the bill, once this is done KIBTEC will reconnect the meter - other services will also be provided such as refuge disposal.

Well Carrington may be able to do something. We are on another site in Esentepe and all owners paid their property taxes last November, the street lights are still not on!

Hi, we live in Esentepe and pay our council tax and do not have street lighting. The street lights are there, but not switched on. The council will not come up our road to empty our bins, we have to take the garbage down to the main road, which really is not a problem. That is life over here.

Hi all, The owners on our site paid their council tax in November and yes we did get our street lighting switched on as promised. You need to make sure everyone pays and Esentepe council will do it. The butlers wife.

Have any of you without street lighting & who are paying property tax (BTW that's what it is called here not Council tax) , tried asking the Belediye to deal with the lighting problem. You do have to chase things up here. I live on the outskirts of Catalkoy & if we lose a street light the Belediye will come up & change the bulb. If all the lights go out, they contact Kibtec & they come up. These days they are very responsive & I rarely have to report it twice. Once the Belediye are aware about a new development, they usually levy a bill to every new property & the fines are large for those who do not pay. Despite the fact that technically Property tax is the responsibilty of the landowner/developer until a kocan is issued, ultimately the householder will have to pay that bill, along with all the arrears & any fines before a kocan will be issued.
