Funky Monkey from the TRNC and Johnny and the Liars a top band from the south are joining forces to raise money for the turtles in Cyprus.

The event will be hosted at the Dolce Club at the Jasmin Court hotel in Girne on Friday May 8th.

Also included in the evenings entertainment is fire eater and fire performer called Alice in Flames, from the south.

“Our plan is to raise awareness of the Turtle project being carried out here in North Cyprus,” said Funky Monkey front man and event organiser Jonnie Hawkins. “I discussed the idea with Tricia Dann from the Friends of the Society for the Protection of Turtles (Spot) and Jasmin Court Hotel agreed to hold the event.”

Doors will open at 8pm, and tickets for the event cost 20TL with all the proceeds going to SPOT. (all tickets are available on the door)

That's right Nige. It'll be a shame to see him go. But from what I can gather trying to do this kind of thing on this island sadly is not easy.

Fair play Jonnie, hope the night goes well for all concerned. Ragin I'll be missing it and more raging that by the time I get back to Cyprus The Monkeys will at least be different if not gone altogether :(

Hello everybody and thank you for your support in this truly worthy cause...



I have breaking news...



TurtleBury can now confirm that joining 'Funky Monkey', 'Johnny And The Liars' and 'Alice In Flames', will be local party band 'The Old Rockers'.



Doors will be opening at 8PM and 'The Old Rockers' Will be on stage just after 9PM.



This event is not just to raise money but also awareness of the turtles plight both here in Cyprus and globally. With short presentations and information available all evening we hope you will leave the event informed and ecologically aware of the world around you.



On the other hand, this will be a 'hell' of a party for everybody!!!
