Hi,

Can anybody advise on buildings and contents insurance. We need insurance and would to get cover that will pay out should we have a claim.

There are many to choose from, all offering different types of cover. Some include Earthquake protection and some even if a plane lands on your house. All the banks offer some type of insurance as well as specialist companies.



An english agent is Steve Dickinson. All agents though have English speakers on their staff and policies in English.



As for paying out.....Well, there's the $64,000 question. Which Insurance company do you know will pay out no questions asked, or find a loophole that you weren't aware of? Not Many I'm sure.



Shop around and get the policy you want, not what they want to sell you.

Hi Steve,



Thoroughly recommend Steve Dickinson.

When I had a minor bump in my car Steve urged me to make a claim with him.

He also sorts out all claims personally.

Give Chrys at The Business Centre in Alsancak a call (just up the road from Atakara Supermarket) - opposite side of road. She does my house and car insurance and is really helpful and knowledgeable. Her number is 05338400410

Bought ours through Iktisatbank. They have an english department upstairs in the kyrenia branch and they are super. We also get a 20% discount from having a membership with the BRS which only costs £10 per annum.

I can confirm that Umbrella Insurance sold by Iktisatbank have paid claims by my neighbours and me in the last 18 months. Unfortunately, between us we have had 4 claims but they have been relatively painless to submit (via the English speaking department in the bank) and all paid within a few weeks.
