Hi All

I am desperate to find a home for my dog (named) Bear.

I am leaving the island on Saturday (9th) and had found a home for Bear but unfortunately this has now blown out.

He will not survive on the streets as he is not used to wandering the streets and the first car he sees, he will probably end up under the wheels.

I am willing to pay whoever can help out. I have earmarked £100 to pay towards his food etc

He is trained (sit, stay, fetch, give etc). He is clean and friendly. He is also a good looking dog getting admiring comments from passersby when i walk him.

Please ask anyone you know, even people who would have him as a pet/security/hunting dog (you know what i mean) as this would be a better life than getting squashed by a car.

Many thanks for any effort you make.

Donty - so sorry you're still looking for a home for Bear. Hadn't heard anything from you on the BB for a while and assumed you were getting ready to leave and that you'd found a home for your dog.

Good luck with the re-homing.

I too thought you had found a home for poor Bear, what a shame, good luck to you and Bear, and I hope everything works out for the best with your son.

Hi Carrierbag

He was born around Christmas day 06 so he is 2 yrs 5 months old, he is part alsatian and part something else?

I found him abandoned when he was about 1 day old.

I have trained him to sit, stay, fetch, give, leave and lie down.

He is what i would describe as a medium sized dog, tallish but not heavy set.

He is loving and playful and enjoys playing frisby!

Hi Floss

He grew up sharing a home with 3 other dogs for the first year of his life and a friend of mine who stayed at my place for a few months also introduced a very small dog and a cat and he accepted them immediately, so no problems there.

He also grew up with a cat in the house and they often sleep side by side.

Can you help? .......... please!!!!!

He really is a lovely Dog, I would have taken him in, but as I live in an apartment it just wouldn't have worked, So if you think you could give Bear a home please contact DONTY.

Hi

Sorry if I have got this wrong but if you are unable to find a home for you Bear he will be left on the streets!

Can't believe you are advertising this as one option to everyone.

It's really fair on a dog! that is used to having food and human love, you would rather him starve or be poisioned or be knocked over and suffer an awful death than take him and say goodbye at the vets. Think the kindess option is to have him put down, better way to spend £100. He will will miss you so much and have no idea how to look after himself.

gillken - it's my understanding that vets here will not put a healthy animal down. In fact, it's my understanding that they are hard pushed to put down some quite unhealthy animals.

He is a great dog. good for friendship and security (he may help you avoid being burgled as he will bark if someone he doesnt know enters his domain)!!!

Donty

I would like to help, that is if my dog will accept Bear. We have a problem though, only a couple of days, but give me your phone number, and tell me where we can meet. And there are a few more things I need to know about Bear. I do not want any money.

Bear has just been driven off to his new home. I hope he will enjoy it. The new dad seems to be really good with dogs.

Thank you all for your help or kind words.

I would also like to thank Sylvie (did I get that right?) from Bellapais, Floss, and of course Bear's new owner, Lucky ............. (it's a nickname).

Right, i'm off to be very sad at having to let him go.

Ciao 4 now xx

:(

I want him back already.

Thanks all.

Ange

Send him-indoors to Surrey for his holidays, we can fish the Colne or the Thames. Not many swordfish but plenty of bleak and gudgeon (average size 4 inches)....... bugger!
