I have been gettıng 2.09 for the euro 2.35 for sterlıng just ın from the port behınd the casınos but you need to get theır before 5pm as they start reducıng the rates ın the evenıng as most of them close around 6pm. the ones who stay open obvıousley want to cash ın as they are operatıng a monopoly.

the euro ıs very unstable at the momment the pound seems to be a lot more stable.

In the futue why dont we set up our own expat exchange and cut the mıddle man out. It makes sense as there are alwasy plenty comıng and goıng ın the hıgh season.

Sounds like a good idea, who's going to run it?

Nobody needs to run ıt!!!! you just advertıse on cyprus44 what you need to buy and what you have to sell then ıf you strıke a deal arrange a suıtable central meetıng place to conclude the deal.

Forexample when I arrıved I had 500 euros to convert to YTD whıch ever person offered me the best rate I would have stuck a deal and bought them a few drınks wıth my savıngs.

Unless your changing 1000s, I find the difference in exchange rate for a few hundred pounds makes little difference.

E.g. Spending an extra hour finding the best rate, possibly 0.01 better when you're swapping £200, makes 2 TL difference. Would not even cover the petrol.

For day to day transactions I just use UK Credit Card. The loss in exchange rate is probably £10 at most during a weeks holuiday. It's worth it for the convenience.

The rate also fluctuates hourly/daily. Last month in the space of 10 days it changed by 0.04.

So you can gain/lose by exchanging it all at once!
