Yesterday it was impossible to access http://www.burcuustuner.com through Extend. It seems that some competitors have friends within Extend and they had access to this web site blocked. A word with the manager solved the problem. Unfortunately the same thing happened this evening. We have reported the matter to Extend but the technician on duty has not been able to sort it so far. I hope he is not part of the problem. Shame on you Extend. ismet

Alsancak, She is not in need of any advertising. Please confirm that you are in Cyprus, which area and are you using Extend? Is it hotspot or adsl? It will help us to locate the problem

Thanks AJ, very useful information for assessing the problem. I am in Famagusta and still no luck. There is an alternative address to the same website and its working fine. Is there anybody in other regions with positive or negative results please? ismet

I checked now (Thursday 3am) through a computer connected through Extend and the website is opening up fine. Nonetheless, it is true that some websites do not open up properly with Extend. We actually had a company website not opening up with Extend and after analysing, I discovered that it is the DNS (Domain Name System) cache they got wrong. DNS allows resolving the domain name (eg. abc.com ) to a specific IP address of the computer where the website is hosted. Because Extend had bad DNS cache with old IP addresses, the corresponding IP addresses of the websites were not correct and therefore websites were not opening up. To sum up, I don't think Extend is doing this on purpose but they have failed to fix this problem for months! Izzet P.S. Burcu is a great photographer and loves her job. A friend of mine used her services early this year and they're very satisfied.

msg. 9 Alsancak, Please go ahead, whatever you think its appropriate. msg. 11 Izzet, Thanks for your input. As I stated in the original post, a word with the manager daytime solved the problem and it happened again in the evening. Does this fit in with your explanation? ismet

As Izzet said it was a DNS problem with their main computers situated in Turkey. Couple of days ago they entered the details manually but apparently yesterday they changed their computers and forgot to enter the details again manually. It has been put right manually and now in the light of these explanations it was just a technical fault and not with bad intentions. Apologies from Extend has been accepted gratefully. Now time to have this thread closed. ismet
