Knowing Your Equipment Is Essential To Improve Your Golf Iron Swing. A basic set of golf clubs consists of 14 different clubs. Most sets consists of a driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, putter and then a set of irons that range from a pitching wedge through a 3 iron. Some new sets of golf clubs have replaced the 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 iron and 4 iron with hybrid clubs. The hybrid clubs are meant to be a cross between a long iron and a fairway wood and they are supposed to be easier to hit for the average player. Since the irons make up the largest portion of a set of golf clubs, it is the golf iron swing that I will focus on.
