larry f You should not pay the translation charge the rules were changed on 4th march, what date did you receive the request for the translation fee, if after the 4th he should have known about the new form that cuts out the need for translation

Translation, is definatley NOT required in Girne. I was there yesterday, without a translation and got it done. Don't pay money for translation, just get there very early in the morning and be prepared to wait for a few hous. MC

Cooper New rule ie fill in a new form applicable from 4th March,do you have a problem, it would appear that many Advocates are still asking cliets to pay a translation fee, in my opinion they should have never been asking for a fee, they wrote the contract therefore one would assume that they have a copy in Turkish so why should we be asked to pay again

Cooper, The registration process at the Land Registry includes the search on the land, which is why you need your Kocan with you when you go. If there is anything wrong with your land at the moment, you should find out then. When you eventually get to the front of the queue and get to the desk, there are two ladies out of about five, that actuallt check that all the paperwork is correct and then the file goes into the back room, where the search is performed. At this time you are asked to wait...................and eventually you are called forward again to another lady at the end, where if everything is OK, you pays your money and leave, if not, you are told what the problem is and you go off to your solicitor to try sort it all out. We were ok thankfully.... Good luck MC
