I'm thinking of going to the Karpas for the first time next month for a couple days (husband + toddler in tow). Any recommendations on cheap but good places to stay and what should be on our list to see and do? Thanks

I agree with losbos great location lovely people and inexpensive. However our friends always go to the Arch houses and highly recommend there.

Malibu Hotel is very nice as well. Decks restaurant is excellent and the lady there is English. You can sit out on the terrace which juts right out in the sea it is a dream, make sure you look at all the beaches, there is loads that go on for miles and miles and miles and hardly no one on them. Balgie Plaza does nice food, say hello to hasan there, he speaks fluent English and does lovely food. He grows all his own veg! Balci is very near the new marina they are building up there.

i'm also thinking about visiting Karpaz, just me and my husband. what would anyone recommend, we are looking for the best beaches, somewhere cheap. we have been told about hut's and tents on the beaches, but in 2 minds about this as it gets so hot! but has anyone had any experience in staying on in the huts/tents? so we are looking for the best beaches, lowest prices, most comfort... Not asking for to much are we?! lol.

2 years ago we stayed at Tekos beach, in the huts, they have little shower rooms inside with loo. Clean but basic, no electricity after midnight, so it gets very hot. At the time it was 50ytl for the room per night and that included breakfast. I wouldnt recommend going until September when it cools down, and not for more than 2 nights as you will be desperate for an ice cold drink by then! We had a good time, the beach there is beautiful and so quiet if you can manage to go during the week, rather than over a weekend. Have Fun.

Hi,we always stay at Arch Houses, the 'new block' is really very nice.Manolya restaurant right next door -5 free meze's with every meal. You might even get to see his son and his mate do their break dancing. And even better as you can have a drink and no driving and it's within staggering distance to bed! Livana Hotel/ Beach is also good they do, to die for 'village' bread with all their meals. If you use the beach there take parasols. Blue Sea Hotel also good.Again parasols. Watch out for Oasis, they tried to charge us 5 lira for nuts with our beers last summer. Trip up to the 'End' with the flags is worth a look. Have a great time.
