I see that you have found "old news" and probably didn't read the article - which would appear to lead one to believe the govt was handing out passports to "anyone"





These proposals - if implemented - would simply make it harder to migrate to the UK legally - it would do B all to stop the VISA over stayers, illegals and Asylum seekers who disappear off the radar





As ever, it just hits the easy targets in the pocket .





It will nought about the folk who are already here and live here legally and don't want / need to pay to take the citizenship test



It WOULD stop UK Citizens bringing in wives/ husbands from India / Pakistan / Africa / Russia / Ukraine / Thailand, etc - .. if they don't speak English ....









AHA.. may be that is the plan... ;)
