| Can anyone advise where to purhase a well pump 1.5hp with a suction maximum of 8mt Thanks in anticipation. |

| I think that most well pumps are submersibles, and push the water up from the bottom, rather than trying to 'suck' it up from above - the reason being that above a height of about 25 feet, the weight of the water column exceeds the force exerted by atmospheric pressure, and creates a vacuum, also submersibles don't generally need 'priming'... Try Press Teknik on the Alsancak / Lapta border, they're on the 'Sea' side of the main road, with a nice big sign. |

| Another place to try is behind the Pia Bella Hotel. Don't know the name of the shop but they are directly behind the back entrance to the hotel and sell Italian pumps. We have recently had ours repaired there. One thing to think about when purchasing a pump is how much water is required for the pump to be submersed. We had to change our pump last year because there wasn't enough water beneath the pump for it to work. Sorry I cannot be any more technical than that but I'm sure someone with knowledge of these things may be able to expand on this. |
