If you have a modern desktop/laptop it's built-in. Older desktops/laptops need a USB port and a BlueTooth dongle.

Old or new PC or Macintosh?

Mark, the lady doesn't even know if she has BlueTooth on her computer! Let's start there and make it work - if we want to help her.

Re "BlueTooth" versus "cable": cable usually is a bit faster, but synching my mobile phone with several programs on my Mac is easier with BlueTooth.

RE msg 5, 6xm: I'll email you today (Tuesday). I'm trying to restore my email accounts after a crash (two faulty hard drives at the same time - 1 in a xxx million chances, I suppose!) of the mail server in Holland.

If u double click on my computer if you have bluetooth it will be there, my bluetooth places. Failing that then you need an adaptor. In my experiance bluetooth is not a good connection medium and i would opt for a cable.

Hope i am not teaching u 2 suck eggs, any specific questions please post and i will try to help

RE msg 7, rod28 > bluetooth is not a good connection medium and i would opt for a cable. <

=> I prefer a BlueTooth connection in certain circumstances: a headphone when I'm several meters away from my computer, synching my calendar, address book and other software with my mobile phone - and other examples. No or less cables, less hassle on and around your computer, desk, floor and peripherals.

Seems we're just discussing BlueTooth, instead of making it work on Nikicik's computer...

Nikicik, do you have a computer with at least one USB port? If so, buy a BlueTooth adapter (10-15 Euro) and install the software from the accompanying CD.

But please mind: music files are rather big (one mp3-file is usually 3-4 Mb) and if you want to change the (many) files on your phone regularly it may take quite some time with BlueTooth. If it's the only thing you do - I'd go for a cable connection (USB or even faster: FireWire) between your computer and the phone.
