As Russia has just closed down all its casinos and they are now illegal, is this not a golden opportunity for TRNC? Direct flights from Moscow, Kiev etc., ?

They have not made gambling illegal in Russia ....

All casino's have to relocate to one area this is to prevent the poorer citizens from spending thier money in the casinos and slots.

Casinos in Moscow etc will relocate thier business to one region to form a Russian style Las vegas.

I understand one of these areas is so remote that no-one has even built a small shed let alone a casino.

If people are going to fly to these remote places, let them fly here.

Free flights,

Free hotel,

Let the casinos pick-up the bill.

Ah Yes, I see it now.. plane loads of Russian Gamblers heading to the "Las Vegas" of the Med... property prices will soar, Russian will be the second language after Turkish....

Local women will be happy to see their Husbands leave them for a younger Russian woman needing "citizenship"..

Orthodox Churches will spring up everywhere, and Russia will be happy to advise their Citizens to invest in a "country" with which they have a Taxation "arrangement"...

This place needs money and if we can't get it legit because of the restrictions placed on it by the rest of the world, then Ru money sounds OK to me. Beggars can't be choosers.

Dear "TRNC"

re 14

TCs don't have to be beggars - they can EASILY get out of "jail" by consigning the notion of "TRNC" being a "state" and stealing the GC Ace...

Ah, I see you know the "rump" RoC very well...NOT...

*IF* you did, you'd have heard that there is a sort of unwritten rule that Cyprus is "off-limits" as a place to settle scores between rival "Russian" .. ( quite often they are Russian speaking - but NOT Russian ) gangs..

More often than not it is the Russian "mail order" brides that are paying GCs to marry them - to be allowed to stay in Cyprus

The RoC does NOT make it easy for non EU Citizens to stay on the island..

Dear Coachie, re msg 17

Egypt ( and TR ) holiday making Russians.. I'm sure most of what you say is often true - but let's not forget which nation has THE worst reputation for bad behaviour abroad..

Do you remember what we thought of Germans ?!

Of course I'm "biased"

OMG... Looking forward to seeing the "candidates" on the RU speaking women side of things..

I'm sure I will recognise many of 'em from seven years ago.. same photos..

For those in the know - most of these sites use one of a few databases. Many of the ladies don't even know they have a profile up and you might be corresponding with Boris or Sergey

I HOPE your site will be using it's own database... ?

real ladies searching real men .

as im writing leaflets are being given out in some of the smaller russian states. kazan.glasov, and many more smaller towns.

We feel the ladies are more genuine from some of the smaller towns, and are really looking, and not just looking for gifts through western union.

Were taking genuine ladies .

mmmmmmmmmm I am well aware of the Brits reputation abroad, but the Russians are on a par with them believe it or not. They actually closed the bar at 10pm one night because of their behaviour and in the hotel next door they were fighting with some Georgian people. It was quite an eye opener...

NOT... I'm not doubting what you saw..

I am a "Brit"... when it suits;) and I lived amongst Brits and Russians ... I can assure you most Russians did not cause the RoC police the headaches "our" fellow countrymen did...

Some subjective polls:

Don't look at the overall - pay attention to the worst behaved.. you'll note that even British hoteliers say the Brits are consistently some of the worst..

re 20

Thanks for the response.. may be you missed my specific question - but is your "starter" database unique or have you just become an affiliate?

IMHO - the BEST sites are ones where there are NO agencies involved and the guys and gals find each other.

I met MY wife here:

http://www.luckylovers.net

Check out the testimonials section ... you'll find one ugly "git" with a cheesy grin from Limas(s)ol ....

A good site has to allow internal emails - again without agency go betweens - and the ability to "chat"

But It is good to learn Russian and be one of the few the western guys ( much bigger choice ) on a Russian dating site .. This one is the biggest and is now in English !

http://singles.ru/

Cyprus is not going to attract a lot of ladies back in the "Rodina" - they will be looking for men in other European and N.American cities, but I guess "TRNC" could be a good place to met up - as there are no visa restrictions for Russian / Ukrainians

MMMMMM..They were the worst behaved. No lager louts in the hotel just middle aged people. My two daughters have just returned from Sharm-el-Shiek and Hurghada respectively and told us the same thing was happening there except they were fighting with the Poles. It seems that since they were set free from their travel restrictions, they intend to take over wherever they go.To watch them in the dining room is unbelieveable. They barge past people who are waiting patiently to be shown to a table, grab a table for 6 although there is only 2 of them and proceed to pile up the table with every thing that is on offer. They only eat a fraction of what they have piled on their table then leave and proceed to the bar and do exactly the same there. These are not 18-25yr olds but more the 30/40yr olds.Well if they are going to behave like that then I think they will soon take over from the Brits....

Most Russian speaking ladies are WELL aware that the west is in recession and any ijiot who thinks they can turn up in a Russian / Ukrainian town and he will feel "rich and desirable" is in for a shock ....

Russians have been able to travel freely for twenty years.. it is hardly a new phenomenon..

YES, many Russians behave very badly abroad - esp in Muslim Countries - believing they are "superior". They are fond of all inclusive holidays - with free local alcoholic drinks. They tend to stay close to the hotel.

The smart thing to do is to avoid such places with such deals.

I don't THINK "TRNC" is going to be a market for such holiday makers

less unpopular( with Hoteliers / staff ) than Brits ..

Brits STILL have the worst reputation for getting drunk and causing damage / fighting.

I do remember when working in U.A.E. the taxi drivers asking ifI was Russian

I was not amused but one did tell me that the women were "like men" and very hard

He said he preferred the Philipino women any time. I guess I shouldn't have let him

talk as I could see what he was on about, but it was quite funny.

The type of Russians you get will be equivalent to types of our own we know! There are

many fine and self-educated people that I have met, and taught their children.

It was Brits (English) kids that shouted racist remarks to my nephew and his wife

and baby "I hate Germans" This was in Turtle Bay last summer. Ironic, as he is

Indo/Austrian and his wife is Turkish! Whose daughters were they? I would like to know.

zerochlor,

Ok, Eastern Europe I can guess is Austria, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland etc- I can't see much demand for ladies or men from those countries moving to TRNC- a few steps in the wrong direction me thinks!

If you mean Latvia as mentioned and other Baltic "states" then I'm afraid you have your geography a little mixed up. Maybe you mean Belarussia, Ukraine, Moldova and Russia.

Sorry to sound like a nit-picker but the term "eastern europe" is too loosely used as if it were some poor, far flung country itself.
