Cats..Turkish Van Cat

Any cat experts out there?When I came here to live 10 months ago,a little black/white kitten adopted me.Whitesocks is still here!!Now another kitten has moved in...Nearly all white but ginger striped tail,and ears to match,and the loveliest blue eyes.I think I can guess the parentage,quite Heinz 57,but could a Van be produced?

Mike, not an expert (far from it) but, as I understand it, a Van Cat has two different coloured eyes. However, if there's a bit of Heinz 57 involved, who knows? I'm sure someone can offer some much more expert advice. Sounds like a lovely cat though!

Van cats have white bodies with coloured tails and areas of the head. They can also be all white.



It is true that they can have different coloured eyes but they can also have a pair of blue eyes. Amber is another possibilty.



It sounds like you've got a cutey van or no van.

Hey Mike - you haven't told them it was one of my Essex friends who informed you it could be a Turkish Van!! So all you need to do now is find out the sex, where gloves though, as they can be very spiteful and then we can give him/her a name. Just remember to keep the kitten out of the pool as apparently they do enjoy a swim!! Your Essex Girl xxxx
