Hi all, I have been informed by my solicitor (Peyman Erginel) today that the deadline for registering contracts and being eligible to pay the discounted rate of stamp duty of 0.5% has been extended to the 30 April. I hope this is useful info for a few of you out there. Regards Ivan.

Ivan The deadline for paying the .5% tax is still 31st March, then you can register your contract which should be done by the 7th April although there is an extension until the 30th April. Martin

Ivan, Are you sure about the stamp duty or is there room for misunderstanding? I think a misunderstanding is more likely. ismet

hi martin, kyrenia tax office if you are driving into town from jasmine court hotel way drive across the fountain roundabout then first left into small street ,about 150 mtrs down, white building on the right two flags outside, pay in ytl sterling or local cheque, but beware! i paid mine at 08.20 in ytl no problem, but apparently someone after me tried to pay sterling but was told they had to wait for the exchange dayrate sometime after 9.00???, thats seems wierd to me? my contract was in sterling and clerk converted to lira and gave me the bill, surely i should have had to wait, not him?,unless maybe his contract was in ytl and had to go to sterling, who knows, maybe iv'e just got a nice smile LOL
