We are meeting someone from the south tomorrow at the "main Famagusta crossing". Problem is neither of us know where it is.

Can someone please advise with directions from the direction of Nicosia.

Hi Geejay, at the main roundabout with fountains at each corner ( one way to Metahan, other to Girne, take the road to Gaza Maguza (Famagusta) dual carriage way all the way, approx 45 kilometers, you eventually come to a roundabout, take 3rd turning almost doubling back on yourself. Carry on along this new road, industrialised type area over a couple of roundabouts then it narrows carry on, over another roundabout until you come to a roundabout with small super market across from you and new plush car showroom next door, take this road (right turning off roundabout) and just carry along past gift shop on left keep going, cafe and night club bright orange on right, not far along from there. The Greek side always ask if you have booze or cigarettes, where you have come from and often search the car, dont worry they have done it every time to me.

Good Directions

Just to note that you actually cross into the SBA and the customs officials whilst locals work for the British government.

Is it just me, or are there practically zero directions in Famagusta?

>>Black Knight<<

AKA as 4 mile crossing from the TC side / 2 mile crossing from the GC side / Strovilia GC side / Akyar TC side ;)

My instructions.. keep the city walls to your left, heading south and at a roundabout you will see a sign to Larnaca ;)))

Good luck

scruffdogs directions are spot on; Been using the crossing for ten years, back then it was a single track road with a tiny police post. Now with the crossing as big as it is it's easy peasy.
