Would it be an idea to rent your property to prospective purchasers while they aquire the ptp on your property prior to the sale going through, that way there is a 'no risk' element to the purchaser.

I for one would find that very appealing and creates a trusted sales process and might get the market moving a bit more.

That is taking for granted that PTP are being processed at all for foriegn purchasers.

PTP are not being given to pre 74 Titles. They are all being refused on the grounds that they are near to a military base. The refusal is never put in writing and for many this reason is simply not true. An up to date map and conversation with the locals, British neighbours that have recently bought exchange in the immediate area and have already got their PTP, advocate and developer confirmation suggests that for many buyers this is simply an excuse.

I am reliably informed that when this happens you can apply to the High Administrative Court to void the decision on the grounds that the reason shown is not true. The HAC has the power to cancel a decision but does not have the power to substitute another decision in its place. So it has been a futile costly exercise for those that have taken this route.

The TRNC government need to come clean and admit they are no longer giving out these deeds. Is the truth too much to ask for?

Hi Ozankoymum,

I think this is a good idea, providing the vendor can wait 3 years for ptp to come through.

Hear, hear, Bradus!

Let's be seeing some transparency from this UBP government; and also some action from them with regard to HBPG's concerns and suggestions.

Implementation of existing laws, to the letter, would be a satisfactory preliminary gesture.

Butler....good point.

If you are selling, you want to sell quickly, get your money and move on.

You don't want to be letting people live in your property for a pitiful rent, for 2,3 or who knows how many years....waiting to see if they get PTP (if it's Pre-74 Turkish Title then they won't ! )....and then be left with a property in a worse state and probably worth less than when you started.

AND....squatter's rights is another potential problem in itself !

Message 4,

We will never see any transparency. How could this government admit that they have no problems selling GC owned property but they will not sell TC property? Hypocrisy for all the world to view.

Imagine what the GC and EU would make of this. There will never be any admission from the government which is why they will not put the refusal and reason in writing and allow a fair appeal. The only course of action that can be taken is to prevent others from falling victim to this unpublicised scam.
