How long is a piece of string...................................................Seriously, no one really knows as it depends who see you in the office. I think as long as they see you have enough money to live on, or an income coming in from somewhere (other than working illegally) your ok.

I transferred a reasonable sum of money into a friends account, photocopied his account statement then immediately transferred funds back to my account. Took 10 minutes at the bank and he got his 'temporary visitor' visa without problems. Cost him a couple of beers!

It seems to vary with different people somehow. One friend was told 10,000 another 2000. I have seen at immigration before what Brinsley had done, but the woman said to the English lady that there had been no movement from her account and that they suspected that she had done this temporary money transfer. My other friend showed her UK account and that also was ok. Who knows what they will ask for here as there is no set amount.

I will let you know as I am going tomorrow and I only have my post office book from 1964. LOL
