Hi all, Does anyone know what the Muhtar will need to issue one of those letters for getting my container sorted at the port? I'm told different Muhtars ask for different things and as I have to see the one in Catalkoy tomorrow, it would be great to know if any of you guys have had to go to the same one recently. Alternatively, if anyone knows the phone number, it will be a big help. Thanks very much.

Contract of sale, residency (if you have it), passport, 10YTL (but maybe more by now). By the way, he doesn't give change.

his office is next to Post Office (painted yellow), turn left at crossroads coming from main rd into the village, it's about 300m on RHS. His name is Raif and his number is 0542 855 7288. I think you will need your sale contract and passports, but might be best to ask, he speaks English. He is usually there for an hour in morning and 1 hr in the afternoon. Good luck

Hello again, Just thought you might be interested... The muhtar in Catalkoy, Raif, is a lovely man. Helpful, polite and obliging. I was there for maybe 5 minutes and the only money he would take from me was enough to cover the stamps. Tim was absolutely right about the paperwork needed and Sharon was right about how to find him. I must admit I was a bit worried about trying to get this letter but it was easy as pie! Cheers all x

jokers - sounds cushy doesn't it? Our mukhtar works for Kibtek and he is also a farmer - so I dont think it's all they do! If all Kitty got charged for was the cost of the stamps he's not gonna get rich doing it!!! ltd
