Would be really grateful to hear from anyone that has gone ahead and paid their KDV without sight of their title deeds. Elko has been great with his advice but we still do not know what to do and I think that goes for the same for fellow residents of ours. People dont want to get a penalty but at the same time dont want to pay until their deeds come through as originally told.

I for one would have no problem paying if i could see sight of my deeds , the problem i see is that when asking on the forum who has got deeds the yes factor is very low .also at the recent home buyers pressure group meeting out of a full meeting only aboiut 4 people put there hands up to owning deeds . Also what concerns me is that we are now told about transfer forms meaning just transfering property to another buyer , now these are not deeds . So why pay all of these taxes when it is looking like you wll not be owning anything other than a transfer form . Am i making sense ?

Transfer of title deeds is not really a transfer of title deeds, it is the transfer of ownership and the DLO eventually issues new title deeds to the new owners with their name on it and usually the previous owners written and crossed out.

Pipie,

Sorry, I missed this one. Sometimes I forget which threads I have been following.

The statement in messge 5 above looks very familiar to me, probably I wrote it somewhere So onece the transfer papers are signed the property is yours but you get the title deeds in about a month or two as proof of ownership. The "Title Deeds" is a piece of official paper which proves ownership. So I am not sure what you are confused about. So now we are both confused

Hi Nicky,

In answer to your original question, all Medview purchasers pay the VAT before receiving their keys, Medview insist on this, no VAT, no keys. To date not one Medview purchaser has their title deeds but we live in hope. If the developer hasn't paid this to the government and goes bust the buyer will have to pay again. A lot of developers are owed money from the government in the way of grants and until this is payed they are holding on to all the VAT they have collected.
