Thanks Mal & okay now. I have voted. I think you need to add more timescale options over & above 5 yrs. I'm sure there are many who have waited up to 10 yrs. & longer.

Mal In order to put down number of years, when is the start point? from signing contract, or completion of property. Depending on the answer. I think for some you might need a greater timescale.Might I suggest up to 10 years from signing contract.

Hi YES!!! we received ours last week( at least I think we did. could be for a garden shed down the road for all we know as its in Turkish and yes we will get it translated) It is hand written and we paid our dues in March so have been waiting 6 months. Is it best to bring them back to England with you or can you deposit them in a bank in TRNC. Brend

I have used the moving in date. In some cases people may still be waiting for PTP. Not so in our case. Got it in 6 mths before moving in. From date of signing contract it's now 8 yrs & counting. From moving in 7.5yrs.

I voted no, as the last two times I have been down to the land registry they have not been ready. I hope when I go on 26th October, they may be ready ... but you never know.

| catalkoykid,"its a worthless piece of paper" Two properties sold within 400 metres of us would say that having a title deed isn't worthless unless your property isn't what the buyers are looking for. These are not estate houses which unfortunately seem to be difficult to sell at the moment. sloan, "pre-74 Turkish title" I would be very interested if you could confirm that the government are issuing title deeds on these as there have been rumours going around that the old government wouldn't sell such land to "foreigners." | Date: Wed, 20 May 2009 17:36:24 +0000 From: sheilasloan@btinternet.com Subject: RE: deeds To: f_ozdenefe@hotmail.com Thank you very much for letting me know. From everything that I have read lately, pre-74 Turkish title freehold deeds are very hard to come by and the government is stopping issuing them. I am very pleased we have managed to get in in time. |

From: "Fazilet Ozdenefe" View contact detailsTo: sheilasloan@btinternet.com Yes indeed you are very lucky. I have a few clients who've been rejected already. Congratulations again. ...... but there again I will blieve it when they are in my hand. My last visit to the land registry was Sept 1st, just before I returned to the UK. They told me to come back in a month, but as I said previously, I will go in on October 26th.

msg 18, cronos timely intervened by saying "they will happily SELL you the land, but they won't let you OWN it" Well put, have you ever thought of writing articles for NCFP? Well, I've got to ask. msg 20, sloan said, "Your deeds are freehold" Don't suppose they put in writing that it was pre-74 Turkish? Mal Editor of http://www.northcyprusfreepress.com

Who put it in writing? Do you mean on the original contract? The apartment is one of Hilmi Kirgin's, behind the Pia Bella Hotel. The land belonged to Hilmi's wife's family. Our lawyer has confirmed that it is pre-74 title. I will wait until I hopefully receive the kocan and have it translated.

Hi Mal it would be interesting if you could do a poll for PTP regarding how long people have waited in relation to when they bought and the type of deed.

"do a poll for PTP regarding how long people have waited in relation to when they bought and the type of deed" And even more interesting if they named the Developers they bought from (as most will, presumably, have bought from developers and not from Private Sellers.

waiting 4 years for deeds? i'd be happy with that, myself and others put large deposits down 3 or 4 yrs ago, still just a shell, site abandoned, probably will never be finished either!Investors at eastcoast residence, bogaz. If you have the keys to your property and can use it with or without deeds dont worry about it imho.enjoy it!

msg 32, "Went down again this morning and it did not look hopeful, but they asked me to wait and wrote it there and then" Excellent news sloan! Get a translation so you can confirm this is a pre-74 Turkish property as you will then have a potentially internationally recognised property. Not sure how you confirm this unless the previous owner has owned it since before 1974. Mal
