Isn't it time the Turkish Cypriots fought back and asked for compensation/payment and or return of their properties that they lost in the south. Not sure where the rest of the world thought the Turkish Cypriots lived before the intervention but anyone with a brain would know they can't all have lived here in the North or can they?

Dominic used 3 sources:

http://www.xak.com/main/newsshow.asp?id=100082

http://financialmirror.com/News/Cyprus_and_World_News/18097

http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/10/a_new_lawsuit_against_turkey.asp

The first two said the law firm was Class Action but the Weekly Standard (the most reliable source) had the link to http://www.tsimpedeslaw.com and quoted the press release.

So it appears that the NCFP got it right and the Financial Mirror got it wrong!

msg 3, "well, that should cause a run on the Lira!"

You're right, it's dropped 0.007% today. I'm ruined, I've lost 72p but most of that was from being short changed at the bank.

malsancak,

There is no mention of this matter on the Tsimpedeslaw site. If there is any factual evidence for this surely they would print this statement themselves.

The Weekly Standard item seems to just be a repeat of the xak and the financial mirror articles. This may just be a con as these seem to be Greek owned publications/sites.

Please check the reliability of this.

They have just filed the case according to the press release and I guess that doesn't make it one of there current cases yet. The term "class action" which the other papers use is a US system of combining 100s of similar cases but only running one case. On the basis of that case's outcome the success of the other cases can be judged. Maybe they're waiting for America GCs to contact them?

On the other hand there does seem to be little about this case anywhere but on those three publications and on BBs. Mmmmmmmm, thanks for that Geejay, I'll check over the next few days.
