I would like to know who is the governing body that esate agents have to register with and how to find out if a particular agent is registered.

There was a "governing body list" set up in conjunction with the government.



However after much lobbying the list is now a waste of time. Because a number of agents, one of which is often discussed on this BB, did not satisfy the laid down conditions the government decided to change the criteria.



You will find more info on HBPG and Marian Stokes has made her comments in no uncertain terms in the press.



This was an opportunity to move forwards but as always thebuilders and estate agents etc won. They do not want to be controlled as they would oose to much money.
