Hi there, I am on your side of the world but not as far out, just past the Bahceli turning on the landward side of the road.

Hi Tony

Thanks for the reply. I know that area generally and as you say it's not as far out so I don't think we will bump into each other but you never know.

I started a contact site for people further up the karpaz but it's a devil to get them to 'talk' so I thought I'd register on this forum to see if there were any on here.

I'll stay on this one too as it is livelier and there is a great deal of information available.

Cheers for now

Hi Tom,

Shaun and I are on Hilltop site (now called Safakoy) in Bogaz. We have been living here approx 15 months now. I have been to Malibu beach at Yenierenkoy lots of times .Bafra beach is also very nice and of course Golden Beach right at the end of the Karpaz. Terri

Hi Terri

I know Safakoy and the area. I got to know about it on Bogaz Info and as we pass it quite often on the way to Lemar, Gazimaguza etc. I did once have a drive around - and then stop at the Beledeyesi cafe on the harbour - we stop there quite often now.

I hope you are enjoying your life up there.

Rumour tells me that some of the people from DEKS up at Yeni have taken over The Moon Over the Water so I suppose we will be stopping off more often to see them.

Yes, the beaches up there are good. I like finding other little ones that no-one knows about and having it all to ourselves.

We have a little place on the Tanyel estate opposite Malibu so it's quite handy for a quick walk down and is fairly peaceful out of season.

Cheers for now

Tom,

Hassan from the Beledeyesi cafe on the harbour also runs Ye Olde Barn pub which is opposite The Bogaz Beach Bar at the harbour. If you are looking for somewhere to go when you next come out.At the moment, there is a DJ on friday and saturday nights and a quiz every fortnight on a tuesday night.

Shaun and i also go to The Peace Bar for a game of pool every saturday night. There will also be two more restaurants open by this summer. We are getting spoilt for choice!!!! Terri

Hi Tom,

Welcome to this forum. You should throw a party and those of us living in Famagusta district may oblige

We really miss Norman, he used to do that from time to time. After Norman's death I think his wife moved to UK but do you know what happened to his son, did he go back with his mum?

Hi Terri

Thanks for that. I've made a note and when we come over again we'll have a look.

Hi Ismet

Good to talk to you again. I never met Norman and I know how much he meant to people, but we did mail each other quite often and he helped me a great deal with a few things. I was going to try and meet him on one of his visits up to Yenierenkoy to have his ice cream at DEKS but.......

Yes I know his wife went back to the UK and I think that Paul did too but what is happening now I don't know.

Throw a party? OK my house in Leicester tonight!!

Cheers for now

Hi Gates

Yes it's Yenierenkoy not Erenkoy. We have a semi bungalow on the Tanyel estate opposite Malibu beach. It is on what was Site 6.

Cheers

Between Bogaz and Bafra(ish),think there will be alot more in 12 months as 150 people haven't registered yet.

Hi Tom,

We are further out than all of you, in Dipkarpaz. This year is the first time we have had proper internet connection. Not so many Europeans here, hardly a dozen but many nice turkish people.

I use turkcell 3G 4gb and have no complaints. We probably will be living here 9 to 10 months of the year. Need to see the children and grandchild in England the rest of the time.

I think most of you know the place of the "Friday Market" for fresh vegetables in Famagusta. A few yards up the road is the famous "Minder" Restaurant with authentic local food and always first class. It may be a good place to meet for lunch one day. Anyone interested?

Message 14.............

Spud , dead easy mate . Follow coast road to the T junction turn right over the mountains to the end . turn left to Famagusta , when you get to the end turn left . Go past Bogaz and just keep going following Dipkarpaz signs. You will then pick up signs for the Monastry . We stayed overnight in the Burhan beach huts on the right hand side . Well worth a visit. Approx 2 and half hours from Bahceli .

ok Tom, let us keep this thread active for a day or so by responding to it and then we can fix a date and time that would be convenient for most people. Perehaps a Friday would be most suitable so that people can buy their fresh vegetables too. Please let us have the names who may be ,interested.

I can provide full directions if necessarry.
